OK, I'll start. Here's a Peter Lynch quote that I like:

"Owning stocks is like having children - don't get involved with more than you can handle."

"It's not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for." - Robert Kiyosaki

I love this quote because it reminds you that you should be working so that your grandkids are wealthy, not just you.

This is only very slightly related to investment, but I found it funny.

Yeah, it's a good one and make us think that it's not just about the moment, but for how long we can keep the moment going.

Hahahahha I have some good investment jokes.

    1) There was a tremendous turnaround in the market today:
A stockbroker who jumped out of a window on the 13th floor saw a computer screen on the 7th floor and did a U-turn.

    2) The market is weird.
Every time one guy sells, another one buys,
and they both think they’re smart.

    3) Who was the world’s first stock broker?
Noah – He floated his stock while the world was in liquidation.

    4) An investor to his advisor: Is all my money really gone?
Advisor: No, of course not. It’s just with somebody else!

    5) Money can’t buy you true love.
It does however put you in a good bargaining position.

    6) An oil sheik says in a gallery:
    I really admire Picasso.
There is nobody who was able to sell oil so expensive.

Oh, this is so true! I have seen people who are so intelligent in most areas but have *no* concept about what saving and investing involves... and they spend as fast as it comes in without any thought to things like retirement. This isn't teens or "twenties" either... this is people over 30 who *should* be thinking about retirement.

I'm not sure what causes the "spend it as soon as it comes in and if there's not enough, take out a loan and go further into debt" mentality, but it sure is scary... at least to me!

I know a few people like that as well, they spend all the money they get and neither invest nor save anything.
If I ask them why they do this the look at *me* like I'm the crazy one, they say the money is so that they can have a good life and enjoy it while it lasts.
I don't know what their plan is for when they are older, but knowing my luck they might end up with more money than me...

One that comes to mind: "Every once in a while, the market does something so stupid it takes your breath away." - Jim Cramer

"If you need a friend, get a dog!" - Carl Icahn and later "Gordon Gekko". :)

I find it funny when beginners come into the market and say that they will somehow be immune to any losses, and that they will be better than anyone else before them.

It's less funny when it comes from those who know better who say such things because they're trying too hard to impress others or are pumping some scam.
