We are living in a world where others are required to rate us. Some people will feel better if they give you a bad feedback. The problem is the feedback will be accepted without further investigation. What would you do if someone gave you a bad feedback without cause?

I have been on the other side of the fence in receiving bad feedback but am learning to take it in with a pinch of salt, only when i receive the said feedback, i put the said receipent of the said feedback in his or her place with well placed respectful words...no abuses here...just mature words that make one re-think why they did what they did i the first place :)

I think we should be receptive to what others say, it doesn't mean they are saying the truth, it's just an opinion.

Dispute. Dispute. DISPUTE. Find a way to dispute the claim and have it changes. If you didn't deserve it and have proof to the contrary of what they said then you should just try and get it changed. Most websites will help you change it if you contact support. I had someone order two of the wrong thing from ebay from me and didn't get the product they wanted. Because they made the purchase I told them I could switch the product out with the right one if they simply mailed it back and paid shipping. They left a horrible review and gave the lowest rating they could. I sent copies of my messages to ebay and they had the problem cleared up within a day. Don't accept the things that you can change. Almost nothing in life is permanent.

I have been given bad feedback without cause and there was completely nothing I could do about it, I just swallowed my pride and dealt with the harsh blow that I was given, knowing not everyone is the same and we can never please everybody.

Sometimes the truth hurts when it smacks you in the face. It is constructive criticism so you have to deal with it daily to grow as a person. I try to learn how to take things in as info and not personally.

You can't avoid getting feedback at some point. Point is it's not possible to be perfect. And some people generally don't look at the bright side. If you don't meet their expectations then they'll look at all the negative [stuff] and provide bad feedback. It's always best to steel yourself for the worst so you won't reel back from the blow when it is delivered.

I am so happy to update that the bad feedback has been resolved and now everything is just right. I had written to the owner of the site and requested to be rated again. They advised me to keep commenting and wait to be rated eventually. Thank you for answering my thread. I appreciate it.

So this was a specific question Muthoni? Profit, true, sometimes our best friends say the things that hurt the most.

I think that any criticism needs to be presented with a solution in hand, so that it is constructive.
As long as it's constructive criticism you should accept it and even thank the person for it, but otherwise I wouldn't take it.
