Sprint's stock has been on the decline for forever now, as investors have questioned whether the company can turn things around. The company has started doing some aggressive things to pull itself out of the hole with mixed results. The big issue is that the company's network is still spotty, even in city's where it's supposed to be at its strongest.

How are you feeling about Sprint's future? I have a positive view, although I'm not currently invested, and the company could easily keep hemorrhaging subscribers.

If they do not fix their network, then there is actually nothing they can do that can really make a difference, they will keep on going down.

Sprint has been upgrading its network slowly. If it was able to roll out Sprint Spark more quickly, then the company could start growing again. Consistent data speeds of 60 Mbps would be extremely enticing for users. Being the only company that truly offers unlimited data without throttling (4G/3G) is a great distinction, but the network's weaknesses are holding the company back. Depending upon its speed of upgrades, I could see Sprint turning things around in a big way.

I don't feel to good about Sprint's future because they seem to be losing popularity and when you here people talk about phone companies they never have anything good to say about sprint - not the kind of reputation you want. I think their only hope is a major revamping.

True, but all wireless providers have their general, drum beat complaints.

Verizon/AT&T: Super expensive with bad customer service.
T-Mobile: Large network but terrible and sometimes schizophrenic data speeds.(Wi-Fi calling useful but also used to mask deficiencies in coverage)
Sprint: Bad coverage in certain cities.

I actually think Verizon and AT&T (I've had both) are far superior to T-Mobile and Sprint, if you can pay the price. You really do get the best coverage and speeds. The premium cost for such reliability isn't worth it for everyone, though.

Anyways, Sprint does need to get its network upgrades into high gear. Sprint Spark needs to be rolled out into every major city because those 60 Mbps speeds will entice a lot of users. If Sprint's network was fully developed, then it would have so many customers it wouldn't know what to do with them because the company does offer the best prices around (thanks to a more aggressive pricing strategy than the other three wireless providers).

I wouldn't blame a person for not wanting to invest in Sprint, though. Right now, everything's on the fence and could go either way.

I think things are up in the air with Sprint right now. Verizon is clearly the leader in the cell phone market. But I think there's room for Sprint to grow. Their reputation has been on the decline in the past few years. I'm in the market for a new cell phone and am considering Sprint, and I was actually pretty impressed with what they have to offer. Some decent plans, especially with the new Iphone. You can get unlimited text, calling and data for $50. That's pretty great. Then again, maybe not so much if their coverage is as bad as some people say it is. I definitely wouldn't buy this stock. I'd take a wait and see approach because things could go either way at this point.

As a company, I feel like they are dying and are on their way out. They don't have that big of a market cap, their management is in a bit of disarray, and they don't seem to be gaining more customers. T-Mobile is more buzzworthy and has aggressively been campaigning to win AT&T and Verizon customers. Sprint just seems to be playing catch-up here.

I won't be surprised if Verizon tries to acquire them a couple of years down the road.

My views are fairly negative. While they are making improvements, they are not happening at a rate that will keep them competitive with companies such as Verizon and AT&T.

Their network sucks, every person here that gets a Sprint phone is unhappy with service. Until that turns around, this thing is dead.

Personally, I think they should just pull every service they have under the Sprint name. They need to stop having Boost, Virgin and their own pre-paid service compete with each other, balance the rates between the three and really push that. The phones should be available across the board and that would make them more attractive as they continue to improve their network.
