Is Rick Perry totally out of the picture? He is as eloquent as Joe Biden, but there is something about him I like. I read his book, and I agree with some of his issues. "If you want a slick debater, I'm obviously not your guy". How honest is that? lol

Rick Perry is heading to New Hampshire, what are his chances?

    I do like him overall.

Unfortunately, I think if he somehow gets the nomination, the MSM is going to replay that gaffe from the 2012 Republcian primary debate over and over and over when he's running against the Dem nominee.

I don't have any major problems with him. He seems like a decent guy. And he was a really good governor of Texas. His economic record is pretty much unmatched in the rest of the country. Texas has outpaced every other state. If he wants to run for president again, I'm all for it. He won't necessarily have my vote, but I think he's got a good record to run on. He'll need to be a lot more focused and polished in the debates, though.

He's not my first pick, but he would be a solid candidate. His track record on the economy in Texas is pretty much unrivaled at the state level. Agreed that the gaff from '12 will follow him around, but maybe if he's on his A-game this time it will be forgotten.

I don't view him as a top tier candidate at this point. I think Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Jeb Bush and Chris Christie would be the top tier. Perry would be in the 2nd tier, I think. He could always surprise, though. He's got a good mix of libertarian and conservative ideas. It's just up to him to become more polished and steady as a candidate. I think he jumped in way too late last time. In 2016 I think he's really going to try and redeem himself.

That is being real honest, I love such people, who tell the truth, they make things much easier, no need to brag about something that you know you are not great at.

Perry has definitely been dropping some hints that he is going to run in 2016. He's been visiting the 2016 early states such as Iowa, NH and SC quite often. So I think Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, Scott Walker, Chris Christie, Bobby Jindal, Rand Paul, Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee are your most likely 2016 candidates at this point. Rubio could run but I think he is going to opt to stay out and back Jeb Bush instead.

    Duh... What? Honest guy?

So as long as you are honest about everything you do is OK? Like picking G Bush again. All the dumb and none of the quality.

Well we have neither competence NOR honesty nowadays. If we have to settle for incompetence either way, I'd at least hope for honesty.

I don't think that he is going to run, but if he did I think that he would be a legitimate candidate for the GOP. I think that the GOP has a good chance of winning the presidency no matter who they put up next.
