Hello all. I'm curious what ya'll are using for personal financial software. I use Intuit's Quicken and have for, gosh, a couple decades now. In the business world I've used their QuickBooks and Peachtree's accounting.

How about you? Thanks for sharing. :)

I don't use any software, I don't have such need. I use online banking and PayPal and that is enough for me, why do you need those Steak?

I have never heard of Intuit's Quicken until now...i like keeping it simple, paypal and my bank account is all i need :). Unless you are running a huge business hence the use of Intuit's Quicken...looks like a wise idea though :)

Yep, me too, I don't trust those software, I like to keep it as simple as possible as I don't want to get scammed.

For keeping track of a vast amount of financial data (cash flow accounts, dozens of investments, easy storage of scanned financial records, et al.). One thing I really dig about Quicken is it automatically downloads all of my investment data with one click and password entry. No muss, no fuss.

Huh?! How would anyone "get scammed" by using personal financial software? Its a record keeping system. No less, no more. Sheez.

Mainly just the proprietary systems of the financial institutions I use - Wells Fargo and a couple of other big institutions, plus my credit union where I keep my short term day to day and month to month bill paying money and pocket spending money.

Notepad and open office calc. (basically a free version of Excel)
Maybe one day I'll move onto more advanced ones, but I like to keep it simple.

If you have all those needs I am guessing it's the adequate software for you. As for Peninha's concern lol, that happens with a lot of people, we simply fear what we don't know, even more when money is involved.

Seems kind of simple but I use a small whiteboard to keep track of my finances. I think the easier the better for me. The white board is hung on my refrigerator so I can track bill payments easily. I just take it down when company comes over.

I just use online banking and a check register. I know it's not very technical, but it works for our family at least for now. We do try to track our spending habits though so we can find places where we might be able to save a little more money.
