Exotic animals are nothing but a way to show off your assets. I think it is quite wonderful that some animals are able to cope up with the human living. But most of the animals are way too depressed by living in such a manner. What are your thoughts on this matter?
Exotic animals should stay where they belong. It's a documented fact that most of these pets always die early deaths because the owners don't know how they are supposed to be cared for. There's no point in getting an animal or bird and locking it in a cage hoping that you gain some pleasure from seeing it in captivity. And there have been incidents . . . owners of exotic animals being killed by their "pets". The truth is, some animals never were meant to be be pets.
Here in central america plenty of people illegally keep exotic pets. I think it can be cruel considering most of the are not properly trained to handle these animals, but I suppose it all depends. I prefer to stick to dogs since they can help protect my property and they are not that hard to take care of.
No pets for me while I have small kids, maybe later if I get a bigger place with a garden I get a dog or other pet, who knows, but not right now no.
I agree with all of you and think it is really sad that people still love to pet exotic animals. I believe that one should be very careful about such things.
A puppy is enough a pet for me... even if i had millions.. no need to show off and put an exotic creature in extreme misery and suffering... live life simply; that's my mantra
I love basically all animals(with the exception of snakes. Those are godless killing machines). I have always wanted to put a llama, a tiger/lion, and basically any animal that is adorable/awesome. I still want to have a pet bear whenever I am older.
I currently have a dog and two cats, but I still think that owning one exotic animal, after gaining extensive knowledge on how to train and protect it, would be an awesome experience all in all.
Exotic pet wreak havoc on the local ecosystems. If the animal is not a native specie if the area and suddenly gets out, It can destroy the native wildlife.
