I have always believed that I am a sane person living a good life. I never thought that I had a problem accepting that my mom loves me. At my advanced age, I thought I saw things as they were. I feel so sorry that I have wasted so much time rejecting love that was unconditional all along.

I do think that mom's love is totally unconditional and I believe that one can also get it at any time. I also think that it can be best to talk to her about it, and tell her how you feel.

Thanks, I actually got to talk to her about it. I wonder if it is possible to be sane and have twisted thoughts. I listen to stories about how people relate with their parents and some are really bad. I will never take it for granted again that God has given me a wonderful mother. I plan to cherish her for the rest of our lives.

@Muthoni. Sometimes one can a different perception on things, that doesn't mean you have twisted thoughts, another thing, try not to over think too much, its not a good thing, glad to know you have a mother who cares and loves you so much, relish and cherish that, that's all there is to it, oh!..don't forget to lift your eyes above and thank HIM for the gift of a wonderful mother every now and then...not everyone is lucky to have that :)

While moms love is unconditionally, sometimes is hard for her also to distance a little bit. We all would love our offsprings, but there is a time when you kinda grow apart.

@dianethare, thanks, I guess that I have been over thinking things; thanks for pointing that out. I have made a resolution this year to have an open heart and to accept love and help from every side. I have a friend who had a great relationship with her mom. She was so grieved when she died too early.
