I must say the GOP's letter to Iran was shocking and very disrespectful to the White House and the United States government as a whole. Maybe it's me, but I found it unprecedented that a political party would undermine negotiations between the White House and Iran and present their case as if they are the deciding factor in how America move forward with Iranian relations. Some have called it treason and I see it the same way. There is a reason why we have legislation in American government that all persons should respect. I know there's animosity against the President of the United States, but this sets a lawless pattern for future leaders in the White House dealing with political parties undermining their authority.

The GOP is making mistakes which will cost them dearly. The may have little or no respect for Obama but this attempt to undermine the current administration's attempts to bring to a conclusion negotiations that would probably be good for everyone is disgusting. The GOP forgets that Iran has a very powerful ally on their side an ally who declared that attacking Iran would not go unanswered.

So what is better? Make a deal with Iran or go for the military option and embrace nuclear warfare [which is what we are trying to prevent in the first place]?

This sort of thing is NOT unprecedented, and not only limited to Republicans.

I haven't read or heard the specifics of the proposed deal, but Obama does not have a very good track record with these sorts of things. And he and his bosses are about as trustworthy as a stepped-on rattlesnakes. This secrecy and lack of transparency that this admin is known for is worrisome, particularly when nukes are involved.

It was bad enough that Pelosi urged that "we need to pass the bill [ACA] so that we know what's in it!". We know how that turned out, of course.

Now they're basically saying the same thing with Iran and nukes. Used to be that we supported Israel, and Iran and other terrorist nations were our enemies. Now under Obama, we are basically going against Israel and dealing with probably the worst terrorist nation on earth.

Obama is not King, and I'm glad to see the Republicans showing at least a little balls for a change.

Why do people keep saying it's "unprecedented", when clearly it is not? I guess some people aren't capable of doing their own research and just like to parrot popular media/Democrat talking points. We have three branches of government. Just because the executive branch (i.e. the president) is in favor of something doesn't mean the legislative branch (Congress) has to go along. We don't live in a dictatorship. The GOP was right to send the letter as Iran is only toying with this abysmal administration.

I think Obama (or at least his bosses) may really want Iran to destroy Israel.

There's definitely some hostility towards Israel coming from this administration. I won't say it's outright anti Semitism, but it's pretty close. Which is baffling since Jews support the Democrats by a 2 to 1 margin. This is certainly the least friendly administration towards Israel in decades. I have no doubt Obama feels more kinship with the Palestinians than any previous American president.

I was laughing on the floor when saw this on the news. The GOP really dugged their own grave with that message.
