This is not exactly something new, but I would love to know what do you guys think about the fact that the governments all over the world fund the corrupted banks?

Are the governments really that aware of how corrupted the banks in question are? I mean, it's likely that some governments are quite unknowing about those things, and some of those "corrupted banks" - are they really corrupt, or are there just rumors of them being that?

Feels a bit fuzzy to talk about this in general, without any specific banks in mind.

Well Bank of America recently had to pay upwards of $700,000,000 for deceptive card practices recently. It was even mentioned in this forum. I'm pretty sure the government, at least in the US, is aware of this.

Banks here were forced to take bailout money after the crash, even if they didn't need it. Government should stay out of the private sector other than to take reasonable measures to protect citizens from fraud and legit harm. Bailouts and otherwise giving private corps money only leads to corruption and undue govt influence.

The feeling I have is that the banks own the countries and the governments are nothing more than puppets that act like the real hidden power tells them to...

I think that's true as well, that's why you see bankers and politicians trading places all the time.
Whenever a politician leaves office they can always get a cushy job at a major bank.

They usually go from Congress to a major lobbyist group first, because they still have all the right connections. Then, once those dry up, they go to banks to help shape policy to push to the lobbyists. It's a rigged game, really.

Obama said before his first term that there would be no more lobbyists under his watch. :D

l'm sure that the governments know that there is a lot of wheeling and dealing going on and on top of that the governments cannot let the banks crash, yes they will let go of a few but not a lot, if the government was to let all the banks crash that were on the verge of closing down the people would run down to the banks tomorrow to try and get their money out and that is not good for the economy.

Haha, politicians are so funny when they are aiming for the chair of power, once they get there it's a whole different story, I just wonder if they lose the will or if the lobbies are that strong.
