Obesity problem has hit the US Army

    This won't be a problem for anyone who really wants to join the army. They will get themselves fit. Just keeps out those who join because they need a job. Hopefully they won't start lowering the fitness standards just to make more people pass the tests.

    I think they do a physical before hand and block them before entering boot camp. If you walk in the doctors office and you have type 3 diabities, no way are they going to accept you. You can't just sign on the dotted line and your automatically in. Doesn't work that way.

    I'm sure they'll let some people slide. The army isn't exactly the hardest job... a lot of times, people go into when they don't feel like going to school.

    I know very well how it works, but maybe I didn't explain what I meant very well. Those who really want to work for the army, who want to do the real stuff and don't join up just for the cash. Those guys are not fat, simple as that. They might have been at some point in their lives but the moment they know that this is what they want to do for a living they will get themselves into some sort of shape (the physical minimums are ridiculously easy) so they can do the job they are dreaming about.
