In the not so distant future, all manner of abnormal sexuality will be propagated as acceptable in the same manner that homosexuality has been propagated in our time. There's also a bunch of people who know people who engage in said behavior, and those people would hate to offend the people they know.... so they have a bunch of words for those who oppose (you), and they'll throw them around freely, hoping to shame everyone into submission. I think we can draw the line as a society. Homosexuality is pretty common. Though one may find it morally wrong, its not on the same level as pedophilia or beastality. Not even close.
I was always taught while growing up in a religious home that homosexuality is wrong and they are going to hell. That's what my grandparents use to say all the time. It did stick for awhile. I grew up resenting Homosexuals until I went to college and got exposed to different people and cultures. Eventually I renounced the thought of religion, and people have the right to chose if they want to be homosexuals or not. As long as you aren't bother me or hitting on me, that's fine. It is a different day and age, and it is something we have to accept. On the other hand the Pedos and the Beasty Boys are sick and mentally disturbed.
All sexual activity between computing adults is normal and legal and I have no trouble with it. All sexual activity targeting a person who is not human, not adult, or not competent is sexual abuse and illegal and I have a problem with it. Allowing same sex people to marry does not effect these categories in the least.
I really do not believe we will ever live in a society in which things like beastiality and incest will ever be acceptable. The homosexuality and these comparisons are like apples and oranges. Homosexuality is normal and there is nothing wrong with it, but the others you mentioned are morally wrong.
I'm right wing. I don't believe the government has any business legislating sexual morality, or morality in general. Politicians and bureaucrats have shown themselves to be poor decision makers on that front, let's leave them to the business of running the country. As long as the actions do not constitution a public health risk, infringe upon the rights of others, and stay withing the rule of law then there should't be legislation against them. Pierre Trudeau said it best on this subject "There is no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation."
Actually there are some states where incest is legal. In New Jersey incest is legal but that may change should a proposed law that's supposed to make incest illegal be passed. As for beastiality and pedophilia those two will never be legalized. Even in Sweden where there was a legal loophole that allowed bestiality an amendment to that law made bestiality illegal as it should have been in the first place.
I'm not certain that I would describe homosexuality as "abnormal sexuality" and lump it together with perversions such as bestiality and incest. I hardly think that the recent legislation on gay marriage will open the floodgates to the moral and sexual decline of the USA.
It's fine if you don't accept homosexuality, because you were probably raised to think that way and is really difficult for someone like you to accept diversity, but you have to be aware that out there are hundreds of gay people with amazing hair, and just because you don’t accept homosexuality is going to magically disappear, it’s happening, and people are more and more open about it. You have to learn to live with homosexuality and you need to learn how respect everyone, as you’d like to be respected.
Obviously you want to be provocative and there's no harm with that. I certainly don't agree with your stance but you're entitled to your opinion. I'd be just curious, based on your logic, as to when the moral fabric of society started to disintegrate. Was it with interracial marriage? Or even was it giving the women the right to vote?
