I am eagerly awaiting the Republican debate this evening. I will be very interested to see how Mr. Trump performs compared to the other candidates on the forum. I still can't believe he is in first place place despite his reckless comments. It just shows how badly people want change in this country, and how they will go to any lengths to achieve it. I am pretty sure Trump will burn himself out though, and run as an Independent shades of Ross Perot.

It isn´t so much about change as it is the fact that it is still August. Go back through history and see how many ´leading in July´ people even made it to Super Tuesday. Nobody is really following the election yet, even in November it will still be a side-show. Remember 4 years ago how their was a new ´front-runner´ every month throughout the fall.. Newt, Caine, Perry and the Law-n-Order guy all took turns until it ended up being Santorium as the only viable alternative to Romney by Super Tuesday.. Anyone who thinks anyone but Bush wins the nomination is kidding themselves. The establishment has already chosen. They will have Trump out of the debates well before anyone starts watching them.

Also, you have to know that the media leans liberal and they are just loving Trump right now. The reason Trump is in the news so much is because the liberals know that him talking about immigration this early and this often helps whomever is the Dem nominee. Trump talking about Mexican rapists does nothing but win the Reps states they were already going to win, but cost them any chance in Florida, Nevada, AZ and New Mexico. The media is more than happy to put a microphone in front of Trump any chance they get.

IMO @CarlyFiorina clearly was the best of the early group. And good for her. In this late debate, in my opinion @RandPaul seems surprisingly weak. @GovChristie is stronger than I expected and really hung Paul out to dry on national security. @RealBenCarson is well spoken, but he seems a bit out of his depth for rough and tumble. @tedcruz and @GovMikeHuckabee were good. @realDonaldTrump may have some shown a few cracks, but he and the @FoxNews panel exchanged some good zingers. I don't think he hurt himself. Interesting evening to be sure.

As expected, Donald Trump's statements are now trending on Social Media. He had the most number of minutes among all the other speakers on the debate. His statements are again raking various reactions from people. I wonder what the political experts have to say about the results of the debate.

I honestly have not given much thought to who I am going to vote for yet. I am waiting until the list shrinks down to a resonance number of candidates before I even start to really research who I want for president. I prefer to just sit back, laugh at the attack ads, and let them duke it out among themselves for a while.

Neisen numbers, just released, show last night's debate was watched by 24 million viewers, the largest number ever recorded for a primary debate. Goes to show you that that hope and change is toast. The country is looking for something better. Me too.

I caught the earlier one, but as of yet, haven't seen the second debate beyond some clips online. I was really impressed with Carly Fiorina's performance. Huckabee did surprisingly well, imho. I'm looking forward to watching the second one soon. If for no other reason than to see The Donald.

Fiornias and Kasich are the only two people who seem to have real thoughts that are viable for moving the country forward. Everyone else is like sock puppets trying to get in a 1 liner that people will remember. I´ve liked Kasich since the early 90s when he was able to work with Clinton to balance the budget and do some decent welfare reform. Things get done by people who are willing to work with the other side, which is why guys like Trump and Paul are nothing but talk.. they act like if they are President they can just do anything they want... and have no clue how it actually workds. The greatest moments for Republicans have been when they have been able to work with Dems... Kasich and Clinton on balancing the budget, and Reagan and Tip O´Neil back in the mid 80s.

Or it could be that for the first time 50% of the country that are Dems had a reason to watch a Rep debate in August. Everyone I talked to wanted to watch.. it is like watching a train wreck, or an episode of the Apprentice.. you just do not understand how great Trump is for liberals, and how entertaining these debates are for democrats who are NEVER going to vote for a Rep no matter who it is. Trump is entertaining, but that doesn´t mean people take him seriously or are going to vote for him.
