Every president takes vacations, Secret service has been around for 140 years and is no bigger than it was 10 years ago.
They should not be vacationing in such luxury on the taxpayers' dime. We're already nearly $19 trillion in debt with $128 trillion in unfunded liabilities. They should be paying for anything outside of the ordinary necessities (such as secret service security) out of their own income. And they shouldn't be taking more than 2-4 weeks of vacation a year these days. They sure love to fly around in that jet an awful lot as well for such treehuggers. Anyone ever notice how the left is so selective in it's outrage over high income, wealth, luxury, etc? It's ok for entertainers, athletes, and now Democrat govt officials to flaunt such things, of course. But they just hate the fact that Lloyd Blankfein makes $25-50 million a year when Goldman Sachs earns billions in profits for shareholders.
I'm not one of those folks who gets all upset by Obama's vacations. If anything, he does less damage to the country when he's on the golf course. Yes, it's expensive for he and his family to go on vacation. He's clearly a guy who enjoys all the trappings of the office and the perks that go with it. A lot of other presidents have as well. It'd be nice if he would show a little humility now and then but that's not in his DNA, apparently.
For a country that is full of debt and foreign conflict, it kind of pisses me off the he is taking a breather on our dime. He's just trying to squeeze out whatever he can because he knows his time is almost done. So might as well rack up the frequently flier miles and catch some rays. We're paying for it.
Just another example of the attitude of our politicians in this country. Take all they can for themselves, continue to disregard the welfare of the nation and its citizens, seize control of as many assets as they can possibly get away with, and do as little real work as possible. It is disgusting, and I am not playing partisan politics with these comments. Both sides are equally guilty, and the odds of getting someone in office who cares enough about the country and it's citizens to get anything going in the right direction are basically zero in my honest opinion.
I don't quite see what the big problem with this. Every president, as well as every actual person in this world needs some vacation time. Yes, the place looks expensive, but that one vacation house is hardly will make a dent in a person's tax payments. Even if the 12 million dollar house was directly put on our taxes, that would probably add a fraction of a fraction of a cent to the 320 million tax payers fee. This is a very miniscule problem while right on the horizon is an 18 trillion dollar debt. Just let the guy spend a few days on rest, he does have one of the most stressful jobs on the planet after all.
Funny that they released their musical preferences, or are they really? Eventually that's just a marketing move lol. Either cases, he's also a person apart from being president.
