I have noticed in the last polls that Ben Carson seems to be second in line for the Republicans second in poll results next to Trump. I find this really suprising, but it is in continuation of the no professional politician theme that most people seem to be endorsing these days. Hey if he can get the job done I am all for him. Having someone in the White House who is not a lawyer would be fine with me...It might be helpful.

Ben Carson is smart, well-spoken, speaks quietly and I respect his opinions. Unfortunately, IMHO, he would be eaten alive by the rough-and-tumble antics in the ensuing campaign. I'm just not convinced he has the staying power. I agree a non-politician bent might be good for the country; let's see how deep he can go. (Probably further than Perry and Santorum who I am guessing will be the first to drop out.)

As long as Carson is available to be voted for I am voting for Him. Trump may be willing to split the vote so that Hilary takes the presidency but I'm going to have faith in Ben.

Not American here, so my opinion doesn't count too much. Dr. Ben Carson is definitely one of my idols, but only as a professional. His Christian views are quite extreme sometimes and, if I was an American, I wouldn't really want a person with extreme religious views at the White House.

I love Ben Carson. I love his philosophy, his views on life, and his overall attitude towards everything. I would definitely vote for him. As long as Trump doesn't win, I would be fine.

I feel like he has the calmness of Ghandi. I really think that people will listen, but there will obviously be the ones who are ignorant and just want to fight and argue the entire time.

While I admire Ben Carson quite a lot. He seems as though he's a guy with a lot of integrity and humility. Hes obviously very intelligent and has been quite the success in his professional life. There are many things to admire about him. I have to say though, he will not be getting my vote. He's much too inexperienced in politics and he doesnt seem to have really well thought out views on most of the issues facing America. I think he eventually will fade away as it becomes more apparent he's not well versed on the issues.

So what is an extreme religious view? He's not dancing with snakes. The people in our political system are generally not Christian so if not, who is the center of their world? From the looks of the current mess I think we need a man who has a faith that is not hedonism.

The GOP isn't going to nominate anyone they are sure can't win an election. It matters little what the polls say. Can Ben Carson beat Hillary Clinton? Obviously not. That's why though polls might indicate Ben Carson is doing well, eventually the Republicans will choose someone who they know CAN WIN an election. Carson and Trump . . . they can't. That's why the two won't get the nomination.

I don't disagree with your assessment here but I think the problem with the GOP is the GOP itself. They are the ones that gave us McCain right? They are not winning elections anymore because they need someone who isn't Washington and who is conservative.
