A white supremacist [Crawford, 51] who plotted to kill Obama [and Muslims] with a remote controlled radiation device dubbed "the death ray device" will spend the next 25 years in prison. His defense attorney alleged that it was the FBI which created the device. The irony of it all is Crawford was betrayed by someone he thought would fund his project, a fellow white supremacist — Chris Barker, KKK imperial wizard of the Loyal White Knights.

A death ray device? Ok then...I'm assuming they tested to see if this device was actually real and he didn't buy it at a star wars convention?

As for the defence, what sort of defence is that? I'd definitely be asking for my money back. He should be found not guilty because he didn't actually make the device himself? That's like saying a guy that shoots an innocent person in broad daylight in front of witnesses should be found not guilty because it was actually Smith & Western that made the gun so it wasn't his fault.

This headline straight up sounds like a headline out of the National Enquirer. I'm glad this evil person got convicted, but that's just such an odd headline.

Is a death ray device even real? What is the proximity it would have to be shot from in order to kill someone? It would seem that he would have to get it in close proximity to Obama in order for it to work. This is just an odd story.

I think it is a federal crime to threaten the presidents life in anyway. So if they got witness testimony that he was plotting some kind of threat to the president, then he can be put away for that. Once you involve the president, it becomes another level of law. If someone was the threaten me, they would maybe get a warning or charged with "terroristic threatening". But once the president is involved, it becomes a federal crime.

25 years for something a crazy paranoid maniac would only think of? The guy was obviously troubled and deserved to be in a mental institution more than anything.

A death ray device? That is stupid! What amazes me is that even in this age, there are still underground KKK members and yet the confederate cannot fly. Irony?
