https://reason.com/blog/2015/09/11/teen-boy-kissed-girl-on-a-dare-now-he-fa The good old days when "kids could be kids" are long gone a lesson a 13 yr old boy who kissed a 14 year old girl learned the hard way. The incident [apparently] was reported to the police and for kissing without consent he faces assault charges but that's not all. The school might expel or suspend him — all for a kiss? What do you think? Is everyone overreacting?
Why all the drama,? Just make the boy apologize. Rightly said @ Rainman...guys are overreacting..there are diplomatic ways to sort such matters than resorting to such dramatics.
I think that they need to treat this issue seriously, but not this seriously. I think there needs to be more than just a simple apology. If someone walked up to you in public and kissed you randomly and you didn't want it, you would want something to happen to that person, right?
All of this is very unnecessary. After all it is just a kiss. He should not expelled from school. An apology should be said and that's it.
Not sure of all the details - I don't know if it was a situation where he intimidated her and forced it on her and scared her or whatever... But I'd guess that if he'd done the same thing to another male instead of a female, there would have been nothing done to him in the name of being "tolerant".
I also think the matter sounds like it's being blown out of all proportion, and while it does need dealing with, is prosecuting the child, and that's what he is don't forget, realy the answer? Without knowing all the facts of the situation, then it's hard to say exactly what should be done, but from what we do know, a criminal prosecution sounds harsh.
lol, apparently it's an over reaction, but I can't believe a simple kiss could lead to all that. Most likely there is more stuff behind, but that is at the hands of the police now...
They're both kids being kids-- I think the parents are at fault for the assault charges. I mean consent is obviously a big deal most of all for adults but they're just kids I think an apology and detention (maybe even suspension) will suffice.
