Going to church or not has nothing, or very little to do with how good a person you are. Plenty of bad people go to church, while plenty of moral people do not, and arent fans of organized religion in general. It just depends on the individual. Cant categorize people so easily.

Well, I'm not religious so I really don't care whether the churches are open or not. Or even if they exist. But I'd say it would be a pretty good service to keep it open on multiple days since not everyone can show up on Sunday.

There was a time when Catholic churches were open from all day but things changed when thieves started stealing from the churches. But they all do have a daily morning mass so anyone who is interested in going to church can attend a service at least once a week. Other churches should do what the Catholics do but I doubt it would change anything. Most Christians think they are better than everyone else and for that reason never try to be better people.

While I understand that maybe people will want to meet and pray together, I also think going to an actual specific place to do that is fuelled a lot of the time for the reasons you give. With people, their collection plates will be bare, and that's one if the reasons even if I was religious, then I probably wouldn't go to church.

For me to pray to God, I don't need somebody with questionable morals themselves telling me what I should and shouldn't be doing.

Considering most churches are false, it is of no real relevance if you go to church or not. The Catholic church for eg is hugely wealthy and lives in absolute luxury totally the opposite to Christ, therefore they cannot be credibly believed to represent him. In fact there is more to the argument that the Pope is an Antichrist. One only need take a cursory glance into their past to see what I mean. And even today, they worship the Saints and Mary rather than Christ, contrary to what we are told from scripture.

On the other hand if you want to follow Jesus then you will want to gather yourself together with his little flock, which he promised the gates of hades will never prevail against. This may mean having fellowship with just one other person in your town that wishes to follow his faith by adhering to the truth of Gods word and not follow the doctrines of man propounded in all high/main st churches, ie the doctrines of pagan festivals like Christmas and Easter.

I think an attempt to find real Christians you can fellowship with might not end in success because almost everyone has lost their way. People love money, they hate their enemies, they want to fit in because it's easier. I've heard that it's a lot easier to find pious people in poorer places on the globe. Any place people are relatively richer they have their possessions and other things on their minds.

I've found that with a lot of people. From the ones I've had interactions with, the more money they have, the more snobbier they get. One person I knew of for instance, they don't even associate with anyone unless they deem them worthy enough for them, as in have lots of money like they do or live in a well to do area. Generally those types of people can go and do one but there are some wealthy people who are really nice.

I know way too many people who believe that they are better than everyone else just because they go to church. That's a very negative way to think because if you believe in God, then you know that his house is within you and he will be wherever you are.

I do think that churches should offer more options for mass (or whatever other religions happen to call it), though. People should have the choice to attend if they please, and not all be limited to the same day or two.

Church isn't what it was {in my childhood days}...I confess, I only go to church once a month, the remaining Sundays, I rest...am finding out that the truth am seeking out at church isn't there anymore...people are in their own worlds within the church institution, plus doing things that would even make Angels blush!

You are so right; how churches have changed as they are more commercial now with all kinds of activities. I do think they are important though as many are used as a nursery during the day and also for AA meetings in the evenings. I went once with a friend to an Al-Anon meeting and the church opened up their hall and this was a tiny town, so they do still help and serve a purpose.

Maybe in rural areas there is still a church community, but it seems in cities it is less so.
