What is your general view of politics? Both here at home and, abroad in the world. I want to know every tiny detail you can give me about how you came to have this opinion of politics.

My general opinion is that the US gets into the affairs of others way too much. The whole middle east issue is a prime example! We are never going to be able to make peace with these societies because our ideals are so different.

Left, right, up, down, what have you. I'm not loyal to any specific political party, but rather believe they all have valuable insights and offerings. Alternating governing parties leads to an overall sense of well-roundedness which is desirable considering the diverse needs of any country. I find that parties that stay in power for too long often end up complacent, perhaps even arrogant. It's great to have fresh new ideas and ambitious parties taking hold.

Those are both very good points. Thankyou both for sharing. I agree that America gets involved too much in other parts of the world and, I am very much the same way. I claim to be Democratic but, I go where my heart sees fit and, that can be with any party I feel has the best position on whatever the current issue is.

To me, politics is just filled with a bunch of people who just want power and control and are willing to do a lot to get it. While they are supposed to serve the people, they do nothing but serve themselves. Why do I think this way? Well, how many times have you met a politician that only gets elected helping others?

Pretty much like you say turt, unfortunately it's like that, politicians should serve the people and the country, but I am under the impression they just serve themselves, so it's not a clear game, it's just a game of interests.

I can see your points. There are alot of people involved in politics that are just in it for the power. Not to help their constituents. That is why it is up to every voter to actually vote based on each politicians record so we are not stuck with the wrong people in office.

It's a tricky issue, one which I try my best to stay out of at all costs. Far too many people are in it for the money as others have said, while others are in it for the power. We do have a tendancy to therefore give up on the whole thing, but that's just the wrong attitude to have.

I agree. Maybe I did not make that clear in my last post. I have not given up in our government but, on many of the people who run our government. Money and power can change people or, it brings out who the have always been deep down inside. I want us to focus on ourself and, fix what is going on here at home before we go trying to fic anyone else's problems.

Ideally this sounds like a good idea... and I'd generally agree, but then I try to dig deeper. Take the current Iraq issue. When you dig deeper, it's clear that it's not just "keeping to ourselves" or trying to fix someone else's problems because if you've done any research on ISIS at all, you'll know what they are.

You'll know that even Al Qaeda won't associate with them (think about that one!) and you'll hopefully see that extremists *THAT* much into terrorism probably aren't going to stay within Iraq's borders.

Really, I don't think it's a good idea to wait to see where they choose to strike big in America or UK while we have our head in the clouds trying to make everyone hug, kiss, and play nice.
