Do we have real governments or are governments throughout the world, including the US one, mere puppets at the hand of the oligarchies? Is democracy that big of a fake or what are people doing really?

Are these the type of things you are referring to Gelsemium?

The author was James Risen who found himself in very hot water.

I was very impressed by the comment section... especially this comment.

Pretty much that Casper, pretty much... Reading the article and this comment reminds me of the Bourne Trilogy, but no fiction this time, the pure and sad reality where wars are decided in offices with the aim of getting profit.

Yep, most of it you just couldn't make up if you tried. I mean, funding and directing terrorists as you allegedly conduct a 'War on Terrorism' which strips people worldwide of civil liberties. Orwell knew a thing or two.

The police attitude and militarization concern me greatly. SWAT team usage is rising massively and so are the innocent victims and on top of that many are corporations and therefore have limited accountability.

Lets look at the most recent turn of events requiring the Revenue Canada to report it's tax information to the IRS and allow that information to be used to incriminate mulit-citizenship individuals for tax evasion. That's right, Canada now seems to have "someones" hand up it's arse and is reporting to the other big brother it seems :)

Chaulk it all up to one more small step for Mankind... to be ruled under one world government.

Maybe lets call it "breaking the news slowly"

Of course we have puppet governments. This isn't even conspiracy theory nonsense. It's proven fact. There have been various puppet governments set up across the world, usually put in place however by the Western powers. It's...worrying, but I wouldn't say that we have puppets put in place by the big companies, no.

It's a sad reality, but the thing is those puppet governments have strong police forces and armies so we can't really face them. What we can do is not voting so that they realize we don't believe in this system anymore.

This is the thing.... what to do about it. Personally, I think not voting is a waste. Better to vote for a 'Green candidate' as a form of protest even if you are not a 'Greenie'. I would always vote for an independent candidate or party. The shock to the smug Euro MP's is still reverberating around Brussels from the massive support for non mainstream parties with UKIP and Front Nationale as well as some left wing parties in Greece etc doing really well, polling near 30% and trouncing the 'Twix' parties who are all basically the same anyway... 'austerity, austerity, austerity'... except for when it comes to wars, surveilling the masses, funding the military or their own wages, expenses and bonuses....

Just thought I would say :)

Yes, we can vote for a green candidate, that is not a bad option really, voting someone out of the system. The problem is that when those guys get too big the system usually swallows them you know.

The governments are being run by humans and not puppets, were it for puppets to run the government , then things would be more worse, I think we just all do not see eye to eye and what you might want may not be what someone else wants, so democracy is kind deep than what we think or seee.
