What's an easy credit card to get for a person to build credit who doesn't have credit or has bad credit?

You'd probably want to look for a low-limit secured card. Be sure to pay it off each month and pay more than the minimum if you can. And you don't need to spend a lot on it to get a better credit rating, what matters is that the payments are made on time.

There was one going around ,it was or should I say is called platinum, they claim that you do not have to have had a credit card before, in order to get it, they give it to first timers.

I'll search around on the internet for it. What is it called specifically though? Who makes them?

I know about the secured cards. Do you think they would give one of those to someone who has no credit or bad credit since they don't have as much to lose?

Yes of course they would. They accept anyone because it is a secured line of credit. What this means is you basically make a deposit of around $100-$500 and that acts as a security against you not paying your bill. You will start with a very low limit but if you make payments on time you'll build credit this way. Capital One have some good secured credit cards.

Yes, they would. This is the best way to build good credit if you've had problems before. They have nothing to lose because they already have the security of your payment. Good luck with this, titohunter.

Is there a reason you can't just open a checking or savings account with a traditional bank? That would be so much easier to get your paypal money... to open a savings account. I don't know of a reason why a bank would turn anyone down for that. (This is actually an answer to your other thread about opening a bank account, I realize... sorry for overlapping!)

You can also get a PayPal pre-paid debit card which will allow you to transfer your Paypal savings to the card directly. They will also allow you to do it with any other prepaid debit card but the Paypal card is the easiest to use.

I personally got a Visa when I was in college (you know, the stuff you're bombed with that has horrible interest and $500 limits?) and it's worked just fine. You may want to check your bank or credit union too, they may offer a credit card through them. I know my credit union has a Visa at about 2.5-3% interest if you have a decent CD in there.

    Credit cards

Find out if they have a hidden clause that may actually charge higher for using their service. Improve your credit history by paying pending debts that may be pulling down your credit score. Keep the credit cards to a minimum and try to use them only when necessary. Pay the charges on time to be on the right path to restoring your credit score.
