I think that big countries want to get involved in other issues when there is money involved, because if there's no money in the business they could just do what they want...
I feel that the US isn't taking into account the best interests of their citizens when they take on the role of "world police". There are too many situations going on here that aren't being attended to, while we dump billions into foreign wars and problems.
Im not crazy about it. We have our own problems that they don't care about. I also understand some mayham in other countries can have effects on our economy. Which is probably the main reason they even do it most of the time.
We no longer live in a world where the US (or any country) can afford to be isolationist, we all rely far to heavily on international commerce and political stability. Plus, in a lot of these conflicts (the Arab-Israeli conflict, for example) there is a risk of protecting nuclear weapons...it's certainly not ideal that the US should serve as the "Big Brother" of the world, but unfortunately there isn't much of a choice.
Sounds ok if intervention was positive but all of the Countries which the U.S. “Regime Changed” – Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya – Have Descended into Brutal Chaos and that is only the recent ones. The U.S has a long history of overthrowing democratically elected governments and setting up tyrant dictators and all under the banner of 'spreading democracy'
I would love to see the US in Israel or Sudan trying to put an end to those wars, they would look better than they did in Iraq.
Sorry to say but there's no way the US is interfering in Israel, Sudan however, it would be a possibility. What I would like to see is the US intervene in Nigeria, send a couple of Spec Ops teams and solve the situation there.
I personally think it is. America is in such a deep financial hole right now that it can't afford to keep going to other countries with the objective of creating peace or nation building. The attitude of knowing best for another country is also not very well-formed in my opinion, so I am heavily against going to other countries in order to "build" their nations. There are cases, however, when I do question whether or not America or any other country for that matter should step in and help (i.e. Genocide).
I think that it is great that the US gets involved in the global issues. It would be against human nature for the US to fold their hands and not get involved as they watch people die. Everybody has their own opinion. Hence there are those who will feel offended when the US steps in to sort an issue with the global community. We always go for the greater good and ignore the naysayers.
No, the United States isn't wrong for getting involved in global issues. Though I think we should take a measured and smart approach when doing so. America's military strength is a positive for the world, and keeps a lot of bad actors at bay because of fear of American retaliation.
