Do you feel someone within the political circles is responsible for funding terrorist groups in various countries? I feel there is a possibility this is very much the case. After all, history shows us how certain organizations were funded due to financial assistance by powerful Western countries to enact terror on their own people. Individuals involved in politics are sometimes characterized by deceitfulness and selfishness. There is no way to be certain but considering what is widely believed about power bodies, I think some political figures do fund terrorist groups.

There's no doubt that we have funded fringe groups to do our bidding overseas, and that some of those groups later turned on us. It's always risky business doing business with fringe people or people who are downright extremists. We should never allow the tail to wag the dog either way.

I don't believe the conspiracy theories that the US itself was behind 911 though. There's no way so many people in govt could have collaborated on such a thing and not had it leak out or screw up somehow or whatever.

I have once had that thought cross my mind and have also heard people speal of it, there are some politicians who fund terrorists, in order to make the ruling party look bad.

What do you think that the FBI and similar agencies do? We all know how Bin Laden came up right, he was trained by the US.

It was a lot more than that Gelsemium. 'The Great Game', is very complex and often takes decades to mature. Zbigniew Brzezinski, President Jimmy Carter's National Security Adviser was the architect of what went on in Afghanistan. These people are not well known but they shape the world we live in. He is so proud of what he did, he can't help bragging!

I am sure we have inadvertently funded terrorism before, I believe there is proof out there that has been discoverd that we have. The key is just to do complete research before funding a country or a group. We fund some Middle East countries and they managed to move the money around under the radar to fund attacks against us.

I did not know that Osama Bin Laden was trained in the US though, that is interesting news. Where was he trained and what did his training consist of?

I believe that it is possible for a political group to fund terrorists to sabotage the political power in control. They will use the lack of security as their selling point in the next elections. I think that politics is a cutthroat game that only the qualified can play.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but you'd have to be pretty naive to believe the United States doesn't fund some pretty shady organizations when they have to in order to advance America's interest. This has to come back to bite us before, but I believe it's a necessary evil. Foreign policy is complicated and sometimes you have to allie with people temporarily who you may find personally detestable. It's all about being pragmatic and taking the long view.

Terrorists are enormous and have been for years. I would always have to use caution when meeting someone since 9/11. I would say that some conspiracy theorists do have a point about certain chain of events. I mean terrorism has really affected how we market and sell goods which you all these companies who are there to protect you from identity theft. Then again we cannot truly be safe and prepared for terrorist attacks.

The US alone have earned billions selling weapons to all the countries in the middle east, how's that for an answer?
