Do you feel the current infighting in Iraq worsen due to America's lack of presence in the country right now? I feel Iraq was already a very violent and unsafe place and the US lead invasion destabilized the country further and claimed thousands of lives both in US and Iraq. The urge for retaliation has definitely cause recent upheaval in Iraq. It seems a truly endless occurrence. Although the infighting has been going on for centuries - if you want to get technical - I think the aftermath of the war just made the Shiites and Sunnis more embolden to attack now.

In the short term you could blame the rise of ISIS on the withdrawal of troops for the fact that if US troops were still in Iraq ISIS would simply not have been able to take over Mosul or even Fallujah. The question becomes how long should the troops have stayed? Building Iraq into a modern stable country may have required a multi-decade commitment. With US troops stationed there things were relatively stable starting in 2009 until the final withdrawal, even now ISIS would not be able to put up much more of a fight than the previous groups that fought the US. But the main flaw was invading the first place misjudging the kind of commitment that would be required for success, which was significantly underestimated. It is doubtful that public opinion would sustain an occupation long enough to actually achieve success.

I agree, the US going there made it even worse, the forces and materials they left behind are already disintegrated or in possession of the rebels, so all was lost IMO.

Yes, the US invading Iraq, removing Saddam Hussein from office, and then removing their troops when they were done with Iraq holds a huge part of the blame for the current situation. But there are 2 more parts that are equally to blame... the war between the sunnis and shiites is one. It was going on before the US invaded and so it is going on after. The people themselves have to decide to put away their differences. Until they do, there will always be fighting. The other blame is the rise in Islamic extremism. And this is happening in not just Iraq, but in the rest of the Middle East and Africa too.

Should we stop ISIS? I don't know. Did any Islamic, Hindu or Buddhist country stop the Catholic church when it was at its extreme destructive self?

The only long-term solution to this extremism problem is time. They must come to love life more than war, freedom more than self imprisonment, peace more than violence... As long as a good number of them hold hate, violence, and intolerance in their hearts, you will continue to see these problems. If you take ISIS out, another ISIS will creep up.
