The BBC's Steven Rosenberg reports from Russia's border with Ukraine on the 438 Ukrainian soldiers who have retreated to Russia because they are ''under intense pressure''. Despite strained relations between the two countries, the servicemen have been allowed to enter, and been provided with food and shelter http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-28652096 Whatever next... The BBC reporting the news... Still they couldn't resist ad libbing with the 'Blame Putin' rhetoric by putting words in the guys mouth which he didn't say. Didn't say whether they were fired on by the 'Ukrainian army' as they 'retreated to Russia', or is that only reserved for the women and children refugees in clearly marked coaches? Here is a documented example of them firing on people heading to Russia. There are multiple reports that Ukrainian National Guard that employs mostly radicals and fascists are moving into the area of Ukraine-Russian border. Several eyewitnesses report that National Guard is shooting at anyone who is trying to cross to Russia to escape violence. One of the victims that survived border crossing, his voice can be heard in the background, has sneaked back with a camera to capture Ukrainian National Guard human rights violations on video. Ukrainian military starts shooting at refugees at around 50th second of the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFsUVvJOmlo http://news.yahoo.com/russia-struggles-half-million-refugees-ukraine-conflict-015111404.html http://rt.com/news/165808-ukrainian-refugees-horror-bombings/
That is a strange thing that the Russians allowed those Ukrainian troops to escape to their country without killing them. Ukraine is lying about keeping their people safe if they are retreating to Russia in fear. Ukraine in this picture has no regards for their own people if they resort to using military intimidation on the people fleeing. I guess the US should not have aided Ukraine with supplies if this is what they were going to use it for. Ukrainian refugees should be safe in the hands Russia if the Russians don't want them dead.
Well at least they were not harmed or attacked, instead they have been welcomed, fed and given shelter, not so bad , they became understanding.
The Russians are not monsters, they don't kill every man who crosses the border. I don't know where you're getting that idea from. Many feel that Ukraine should be part of Russia and view them as brothers, you make it sound like they'd pull a genocide on them if they had the chance.
The blame Putin angel is a popular one to utilize but I won't act as if Putin is 100% ignorant of what is happening in the Ukraine. No one side is innocent in this current situation and the recent sanctions against Russia has nothing to do with conflict going on in the Ukraine. I believe there is a bigger story behind western nations who proposed a sanction on Russia. As for the Ukraine's actions, I'm not surprise considering the unrest that has been taking place within the country for the past few months. And lest remember, there was always an undercurrent of hostility towards the Ukraine government due to the poor living conditions some citizens endure.
Oh what I did not label the Russians as monsters in my post, but I'll tell you one thing they have done some bad stuff anyway. Putin himself was the one who charged his military forces into Ukraine and started attacking their land. Why do you think the US put sanctions against Russia in the first place because of Putin's actions. Maybe you don't see them as monsters but I think a country as big as Russia is capable of genocide with all the military power they have. Ukraine was a part of Russia years ago and now with the Malaysian airplane incident sparking large tensions between both sides who would trust Russia. I would not say Ukraine is as innocent either but the thing is I don't trust Russia at all in this age not even to support the economy in the US.
Hi Profit, dare I suggest you watch RT America with an open mind and you will see there are two sides to every story. Russians are no different than anyone else, they just want to live peaceful lives. All wars are started by the elite, for profit. As soon as you start to dig into it in depth it becomes patently obvious. You already know this by what you said about Bush oil. I do not want to see any wars let alone one that has the potential for destruction that one with Russia would have. Seriously, please give it a go. "Crosstalk" is hard hitting and incisive as is "Breaking the Set". Maybe let us know what you think about it afterwards
Casper I understand where your point leads but I was only responding to the rant that conovy made. Every country has its monsters and knights in shiny armor that can vanquish the creatures. No I have not watched "Crosstalk" but I'll search for it and see.
Thanks, thought I may get my head bitten off for the suggestion. This is an interesting one imo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axtEe8yFbis Wonder why talks break down! "Let me finish, let me finish, let me finish,SHUT UP AN LET ME FINISH". Doesn't want to talk about the total blockade of Palestine by land sea and air, which makes it an open prison.
Some places just are like one big prison for the citizens living there. Palestine wants to call a truce with Israel and that is not going to make Israel let their guard down. Truce between the two countries is not going to last.
