So, I am really interested in starting to invest using an online service, but am really looking for a good book to start me off - not necessarily with everything, but with a good foundation to get me off and running. I've been thankful for a lot of good advice on this board, but really need to put it all to action. So, any suggestions would be great.

Probably The Snowball which is based on Warren Buffett.
Not only is it a monster of a book, but it also gives you some insight to one of the greatest minds in the financial world. It's not highly technical like other books, but it's not always about that either.

Heard it's a good book. Great reviews in the Internet. :)

Reminiscences of a Stock Operator is a great one, as well as Liar's Poker. The former offers valuable information on speculation.

The Snowball which is based on Warren Buffett is an excellent suggestion. Like the others said it's not to technical but it gives you a good look into what a famous investors mind was like which is pretty important. It gives you a feel for the way you need to think. These are all great suggestions though!

If you find it a little complicated, you might start with some of those "investing for dummies" type books. And I'm NOT calling you a "dummy" or anything for saying that - I've seriously heard people say they were able to learn the basics from those books.
