I was just wondering whether many bioscience stocks would be effected due to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. There's already a lot of money going to Tekmira and Harvard Bioscience right now due to this outbreak. How will the Ebola outbreak effect other bioscience stocks?

I've still got a few bucks in TKMR, and also SRPT. It's usually gonna be a short term trade that you are able to time right that will make most of your money (and hopefully not lose any or much) with these. In and out, at least with most of your $ - there's always a chance the company will get bought out at a premium sooner or later. But these companies usually swell up briefly and sell off hard.

I agree, I have a small percentage of my portfolio on these biotech stocks. The Ebola outbreak will be over in the next month, and the stock levels will return to normal.

If there is going to be an end to the outbreak then there has to be enough cures for the people. Its a sad situation especially since the poor are the ones who really cannot afford to get the healthcare in the West African area. Since the Ebola virus infected a lot of people there is more of a chance in these stocks to continue to rise until they reach a stopping point. I don't know if they would go down when people are administered the cure.

I don't see the outbreak being extinguished so soon, especially not in a month's time!
It might be controlled, but they still need to get the vaccine to a lot of people and that's just not a realistic amount of time.

The outbreak is really hard to extinguish, but eventually they will. I don't have a lot of knowledge on bioscience stocks, but I don't think they've been too affected. If they have, they'll probably return to where they were.

    Hope the disease gets extinguished.

So then...its time to take the bull by the horns and take a golden chance at these stocks...right?...since the disease is nowhere near being extinguished :(

It should be safe to buy a share for the Bio science stocks. I just don't know how many to buy at the moment.

That's a good question. I bet lots of money are going to stocks related to curing Ebola. It'd actually be a smart investment for this year and maybe next. I don't see Ebola being cured anytime in the near future. And because it's spreading so fast, there's lots of attention put on it.

I never thought of investing in something like this. Interesting. I'm going to have to look into this further. But, I have to admit it's kind of weird to be profiting off something like this.
