The gap between the rich and poor is only getting wider, and will probably continue to do so.

Wages for the average man are stagnating, while the rich ponder over which supercar to buy next.

What is the solution to this; what can be done?

I have worked for a very rich man before and I realized that they form groups and invest wisely. Most poor people have given up due to the daily struggles and are tired of trying something new. Maybe it would be possible for someone who was poor and became rich to talk to them. This person may not be willing to share that info.

Sadly it is a problem is most countries. From the developed countries to the third world the gap is quite astounding. And to rise the ranks poor people have to work much harder and often even then cannot afford the luxury of a university education to further themselves.

So we are looking at people who are becoming wealthy being selfish enough to not want to empower others to be like them...what a pity :(

The gap will always keep on increasing. I think the major problem is decision making. you see, the rich are willing to invest on long term projects whereas the poor will always rush to invest on short term projects hoping to become millionaires easily. Another problem is discrimination of the poor by the rich, you find that some rich people will employ poor people and pay them peanuts.

The gap is never going to be consistent it would get larger by the day. The condition of today's economy just shows more why things go to the direction they do with the rich and poor.

My experience is when I have found a new money making project and I share with another person. The other person ends up backstabbing me in order for them to take over the opportunity alone. I am working on getting rich alone from now onward. The poorer persons have work together, just like the richer persons. Or the rich versus poor gap will continually widen.

Just shows that you cannot get around to trusting people when it comes to money. I would prefer to focus on what I want in the end.

At this point what needs to be done to rectify this situation will probably never be accomplished. They should raise minimum wage on a national basis. Your right in saying the gap is only getting wider and the rich will only continue to get richer. It's not going to change any time soon because to make the types of lucrative investments that make a ton of money you need a ton of money to begin with them. If I had a hundred grand to invest I could be wealthy too but that's not going to happen. I barely get by as it is.

There is no way to close the gap. And it shouldn't be closed. Not much else to say really.

People who are rich are often rich for a reason, and people who are poor are often poor for a reason. Not saying that this is applies to everyone but it does apply to the majority. The only way to tighten the gap is to increase taxes and use that money to help the poor, but there are a lot of problems that come from this as it promotes sitting on your arse and doing nothing while at the same time makes investing/working less lucrative.
