I haven't thought of giving up per say, however, over the years I have used a smaller percentage of my portfolio on the forex markets. Although a lot of money can be made, it is far riskier than equities or commodities in my opinion.

The reason is your friend, I think it's best to diversify, explore other markets and investing. For example buy stocks, it is safe. The Forex has its advantages but we must have a good strategy to win.

I have been trading in forex on and off for a while. I have just restated investing and I do not think that I would ever truly stop trading. I enjoy trading more than my other investments.

I have definitely considered giving up on forex. I lost considerable amounts of money with several brokers. When I realized my losses were because of poor trading decisions and inexperience, I regrouped and persisted. Successful trading requires the stamina to survive some failures if you have the resources. My persistence was well worth it.

I think everyone thinks about giving up after a series of poor decisions. Most people fail at this game; everyone knows that.

You just need to find your angle, your edge. Something that nobody else does.

    You need to be unique.

When I first started I lost my ass all the time. After awhile I found something that worked and I was making $2000 usd a week on forex. For a average joe like me, that was a lot. Then when the market started to consolidate, that when I lost almost everything. I walked away for a year, and slowly started demo trading. Now I'm back and making modest returns every month, 10%.

You have to stick to trading. It's one of the quickest ways to earn money in the shortest period of time. It just takes patience, watchfulness, knowledge and experience to trade well. At one point I did stop trading for a few months, but then I did a re-evaluation to see where I was going wrong and adjusted my trading technique. Now I know how to read the charts and that has made a huge difference for me today.
