I don't see anything wrong with the bottom end wages stagnating - as long as the top wages are increasing. I do think they will stagnate until people start to go get an education and go to higher paying jobs resulting in a shortage of people in those lower wage jobs. However, I don't think it will stagnate for 14 years and that seems to be an arbitrary number that you made up with no good evidence to back it up.

Wages will stagnate because the rich will get richer, it's a simple paradigm, but really unfair though.

We definitely need higher wages in this country, but I think that will happen if we bring manufacturing jobs back to our shores. There are plenty of high paying jobs for educated people. What's lacking are the middle class manufacturing jobs we used to have in this country. Now we've become a country that consumes things instead of producing them and that is leading to lower wages and standards of living for those at the bottom end of the economic spectrum.

I think wages will get lower still and what will happen is that will lead to the erosion of the 'middle class' who are vital to a successful economy. They basically pay for everything through their aspirations and consequent taxes (the rich and the poor don't!). Once they see that their dreams are nothing more than a con trick then we are in trouble.

Middle class has been blown away country after country, we have rich and poor people and this will happen more and more.

It makes perfect sense! They are printing money like crazy but it's not getting in the hands of the average American...

It's funny, the wages of pro-capitalist developing countries are going up and up. The average person here in panama is living way better than we did 10 years ago and its only getting better. I firmly believe that the USA will not survive in the future's rapidly growing worldwide market place if they choose to continue with their socialist policies.

Wages will surely remain stagnant for some years to come and one of the reasons is that business owners are not truly convinced that this recession is totally over. There are some who are saying that we are in for another one soon. Also as mentioned above the cost of producing in the US is much more than producing in say China and shipping back to the US. The trick will always be to find a balance, raise wage and inflation rises as an end result.

Most likely they will , especially with the continual possibility of cheap labor form foreign countries.

If they were stagnating I would not mind, where I live the wages have been decreasing, it's something slightly different.
