Apple's iCloud has been hacked successfully once. Recently there was another attack, in China. According to some news reports, the hackers were able to access users data, files they'd stored on iCloud, etc. Apple, admits that there was an attack on their servers but flatly dismisses the claim that the hackers were able to access their users data. Since Apple obviously hasn't fixed their systems security, iCloud users and maybe those who use Apple products may start considering whether it would be worthwhile to ditch Apple. Do you suppose these attacks on Apple will negatively affect them in the stock market should users actually hear of more hackings?

The first "hack" was nothing more than a brute force attack on users' usernames and passwords through a Find My iPhone weakness. It wasn't a true hacking by any means. The hacking in China, whether true or not, isn't going to affect Apple's stock which is hitting some new highs lately. All cloud storage comes with major security concerns, and they're all vulnerable to true hackings. This applies to SkyDrive, Google Drive, DropBox, and literally every other service out there.

If a person ditches Apple for another cloud storage solution, then they're no safer than they were with Apple, unfortunately.

This surely has a negative effect on Apple's stock price but it is the same thing in every corporation. However, they should put more effort in the security in order to prevent these kind of leaks from happening.

Everything is being attacked. I think we need to do two things - tighten security, for one. And do everything we can to catch hackers and put them away for good or at least a very long time - even if they don't actually do any damage.

Very little is going to affect the opinion of Apple to the average user unless it happens to them or someone very close to them. While there may be holes the size of the Grand Canyon, the image and the established loyalty "just works".

So, as long as the consumer base rolls over and takes whatever may come, hard-line investors aren't going to give up consistent flows of income. The consumer base would have to erode significantly before the stock is truly affected.

Even if it affects the price it wouldn't be that much. However, there is a need for better security and this sector is wide open. A company with some strong tech and software can make ways in the cyber security market right now.

I don't think it will have a negative effect on Apple's stock. It is a problem that apple needs to resolve, though. I don't back up anything to my icloud account anymore for the time being. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Even the biggest company Apple cannot survive against the hackers. Hackers are always going to be a issue its what they do lol. Apple just have another problem they have to contend with.

There isn't anything 100% safe, there is always that more clever guy that can hack it, so we need to keep our sensitive data safe.

People don't seem to take hacking seriously as a crime. It seems like we're way too vulnerable as a society to this. The people we hire to protect our information obviously aren't doing a good enough job as they are always outsmarting most of the cyber security we have in place. It can really do a lot of damage to a persons life and credit history if your personal information falls into the wrong hands. Companies and the government need to do a better job of protecting it.
