I think eBay is going away soon as well, if Facebook implements a similar system people will prefer it over eBay as it is safer because you can clearly see who you are buying from/selling to.
Another threat to eBay is AliBaba, they might even end up buying eBay.

I am not seeing Facebook or even Amazon trying to copy eBay, it's simple not their core business, but I might be wrong.

    1. You cannot buy PayPal shares. PayPal is still a part of eBay for the next year.
    2. PayPal is not a massive company. It is a subsidiary of eBay.
    3. PayPal's profits are eBay's profits. The profits of the US PayPal unit are largely unknown.

So is this Apple Pay suppose to be like Paypal? I love Paypal and have had used their services for like three years and had no problems with them. I would hate to lose a great company like them.

PayPal is a good company and will bring a lot of people profit, however, the prudent investor and the investor who is no nonsense, will weigh carefully in his mind if PayPal as a company, and not a brand, is worth his money, one has to look to the operations of PayPal and the company's prospectus, to see, whether the company has a projection for growth and will in return make him a richer man or will the company just take his money and do a mediocre job in returning him great profits, before one invests, one should look to the goals that the company has in mind and how the you see the company going, or if you're just into the hype to buy into a "known" company, and not care about the return on your investment, then..by all means, invest! :)

This is a very well thought plan, indeed. I really like where this is going, and probably PayPal will not become a bigger burden than it already is by Ebay's lead.

I have used paypal for at least 10 years now and it can be a big pain in the butt, but I am vert dependant on it now. It would be neat if bitcoin became a viable online payment method for everything. Maybe in the futre :D.

Oh yeah, I had no idea until recently. Ebay owns a lot more than you would think.
