Some people earn lots of money in this market, others have lost all their money. That is a shame, but it is the reality. I've personally won more than less, but others do not. You experience?

Nope, I have never emptied my portfolio and I do not plan to do so unless I see a better avenue to invest, to be honest, I just bought more shares in a company that has been issuing very good dividend payments. I'm planning to reinvest in that company until I have a big amount of dividend that is being paid to me. the only better option that shares in a company is if you start a company that has a future for success or if you invest heavily in Real Estate.

Yeah I've lost money and emptied accounts a couple of times. However, I trade high risk securities and sometimes in high risk sectors, so it's expected.

I own a low risk, defensive buy & hold portfolio for dividend income, so no I never empty it. I do sell some things once in a while but the majority of the shares will probably stay there until the day I die.

I am a trader and an investor. I have emptied my trading portfolio many times when I take profits or close all my open trades. I do this often on the trading account that I use for holding currencies and commodities. I use my investment account for buying and holding stocks, I have had to buy stocks that I sell in few weeks or months for short term profits but I have never emptied my portfolio before instead I add more investments to it.

I got married and divorced. So you can see where my money went to. It sent to the lawyers to get my divorce settled. It was a really bummer. Just when you think you are making decent money on trading, outside forces will take it away from you and it's heart wrenching to say the least.

I had a cash account that i didn't want. In an effort to transfer my securities to an IRA account i was forced to liquidate and reset my portfolio.

I actually emptied my portfolio recently-to pay for further studies. I am now trying to replenish my portfolio as the market is set for a boom, or so I hear. Also, there has been some new innovations in my country where I no longer have to go directly to a broker to buy, I can buy directly from the market on a stock market platform that they now have developed in my country.
