I agree with you workinglady, I would love to see bitcoin on PayPal, I am not really that familiar with btc, so it would be another way for me to understand it better.

If you're thinking of getting paid with bitcoins, I don't know how paypal accepting bitcoins can help you in this case, though? If you're expanding to bitcoins as payment for your online work, you could just get a bitcoin wallet to do that for you so there wouldn't be a need for a third party like paypal. Paypal won't be converting bitcoins into cash that you can then store in your paypal account. Like troutski said:

Paypal will simply be acting like your bitcoin wallet is your debit/credit/paypal balance and spend the available money there so you could buy some stuff.

Sure hope that this will impact their user agreement and see them relaxing some of their stringent ways to cater to citizens of all nations evenly.

It won't take long, I'm sure. Bitcoins have only been around since 2008 so I think they may need to build up a little more longevity in order to gain the public's trust. In the meantime, we may as well take advantage of all the free faucets that are currently available - before they become obsolete.

That's a massive announcement, both in terms of acceptability of cryptocurrencies but also how the company views the long-term story of fiat currencies. Given that the world is increasingly moving online, it should be no surprise that Bitcoins and the like are getting more credibility. But it's still impressive when you do see these announcements.

I think that cryptocurrencies can be huge in the future, so investing in them now it's something wise. Good move from PayPal and good move from who ever to manage to get their hands on some of them.

Cryptocurrencies are the way to go in the future. Started out small and going out big. It's nice to see big players like paypal involved and will definitely help things work better in the near future.

I agree, but at the same time it's relatively hard to get in that mean. I've been curious about it for a while now, but never really got in that boat. Where should we start?

there are a few big websites that have ´wallets´ that you can download. Then you just have to find a way to earn bitcoins. You can either use an exchange and just buy them like you would anything else an store them in your wallet, or you can find little online jobs that pay in bitcoins. I am not a big fan of them yet. Too many people treat them like a speculative stock, rather than a currency. A currency will never work if it can lose or gain 50% of it´s value in a few months... it has to be a lot more stable than that. What business can accept bitcoins if they don´t know within 10% what the value of bitcoins will be tomorrow.

Less than 5% of the supply is currently being horded for speculative reasons.
