A few investment funds have gone under already after they got burned by the CHF's rise. Did you get burned as well? The Bank of Switzerland were really sneaky about this one weren't they? Telling everyone they'd hold her steady as she goes at the beginning of the week and then pulling something like this.

I haven't been burned by it. But I have an account with FXCM. So, let's just say that i'm feeling the heat. I'm trying to decide if I should split, i.e, close my account and look for another broker.

Oh your talking about this big ass drop!! I got caught in that. I'm actually in a negative but because my other pairs are in the positive, I'm still up. I guess the USD was going up to high and the brought it back down. That would of wiped out anyone account if they didn't have stops.

I didn't lose anything, THANK GOD. I used to think investing in Switzerland would be a good bet when I head off to Europe next year, but not anymore. Man I feel horrible to those who lost money thanks to this. Not a great way to start the week.

So we are now trading in a 100-125 pip range. Those that play in a tunnel/range system should have some fun with this. I for one have stopped playing the short term.

I didn't, thankfully. I was going to invest in CHF BUT I ended up buying USD instead. I feel like I should go buy a lottery ticket with how lucky I am

Luckily, I was not burned by this and I am so thankful that I was not because one of my colleagues was burned badly by this. I am seriously fortunate that I was not affected by this.

Was this because of the currency swap with China thing?
