Cramer does catch lots of shit, but I think that's mainly because he just talks too much as part of his job / character. Like the comedian who tries to hard to be funny and ends up getting into trouble with his "jokes", Cramer is in a position where he has to give too many opinions and too much advice to too many people with too little info from those people and ends up putting his foot in his mouth from time to time. I read several of his early books, and I have gotten a few good longterm investment ideas from him over the years. Just don't sit there and write down everything he says and try to act on it the next day and expect all of his "buys" to go up right away - it won't happen. He was a successful hedge fund manager for a few years until it drove him nuts.
I watch CNBC and Fox Business just about everyday. Usually have them on as background. Use them to keep up with stocks. Only financial show I pay attention to is Larry Kudlow. He has an interesting perspective, is respectful and has a good guest list.
It's pretty much CNBC and a bit of Bloomberg TV. You have to cut through the noise and the entertainment factor when working out what's worth knowing or not, but it's always worth keeping abreast.
Cramer can be quite annoying at times. He's trying to be all things to all people, giving advice on just about everything. I'm sure he's a smart guy but he's also there as part of the entertainment factor as well.
CNBC is what I spend most of my time watching other than that I do not think that there is anything that I watch more than that.
I watch BLOOMBERG. They also have mobile apps that gives you breaking news, updates and a lot more. there's LiveTV and Radio broadcast. Bloomberg TV is equally good to watch. You also have SHORT CUT ACCESS to many different markets with real time information. Just impressive.
