It is one of those problems which do not really have a solution. The white took the land from the blacks, but on the other hand they have been there generations. The blacks suffer from massive unemployment. There is no good solution.

It has been twenty years in the making but we all knew it was coming. It is so unfair that the descendants of people who have spent a couple of centuries developing farms throughout all of Southern Africa are getting forced out.
I am just happy that there haven't been many massacres of white farmers.

There's enough land for everyone in Zimbabwe. It's not like the White farmers took all the land or most of it. Seizing land and giving it to the blacks will magically fix the economy of Zimbabwe? It's not going to happen. In fact if we must be honest, Zimbabwe was much better off for Zimbabweans when the "bad" whites were governing the country. If taking back their land will solve anything [like making reparations for historical wrongs] then the Native Americans should drive out all foreigners from their land.

It's far more complicated than the case you presented. Zimbabwe's government certainly has its issues but the situation of white farmers vacating their land is not as black and white (no pun intended) as it appears on the surface. You have to look at the pattern of destruction done to Zimbabwe - with the assistance of many wealthy western countries - that created the current dynamic in the country. And please don't think for one second many other countries don't have their hand in this current fiasco, with a global media presenting a highly biased or edited version that excludes the full story. Last, not all white farmers are being subjected to this type of punishment. There are legal issues surrounding the current request for some white farmers to vacate their property within 90 days.

A survey [couldn't find the link] findings posted last year on the net showed that many people say they were better off when the colonists ruled them. Those who took over from them screwed everything up either because they forgot they were supposed to serve the people or they just were incompetent.

A lot has been said about former colonies needing more time to learn governance, etc, etc but it's obvious that's one thing they are not going to learn anytime soon. Mugabe is responsible for Zimbabwe's economic meltdown but instead of fixing the problem he figured pointing fingers at the white settlers was the better option. Before they admit that they've made mistakes and start correcting them, forcing white farmers from their land won't help much. The problems of Zimbabweans will only keep getting worse.

I do not think it is about white people being mistreated, you must first remember how the white people got there, they did nt ask the Africans politely it was forceful the so called colonization, so it is time for them to let go, give this guys a break, what matters is the way they areasked to leave, I would think that they should make the white farmer purrchase the land rather than tell them to get out.

Since the countdown is still on and not stalling, how much time do the white farmers have remaining and what happens to them if they are relentless in giving up the land?...what are the repercussions?

While I do agree that this is not a great move and is pretty racist, to say that white people don't have rights is utterly ridiculous. They have rights everywhere else, and pretty much during any period of time in history.

That has happened all over Africa. The same with the Portuguese in Angola, Mozambique and other countries, they had to leave the country and all their possessions were left behind. I don't see the countries better now though.
