I have noticed that there is a large emphasis on the growth and expansion of Netflix, which is why I compared it to Apple. There is just so much that this company can grow from, which is why I think that it has yet to fully reach its' expanding potential.

I have never read a financial report from Netflix...
But I remember reading a few years ago that they were investing in Portugal.
Fast forward to today, I'm trying to subscribe to Netflix, and they still don't cover Portugal.
And most similar services (Hulu, Pandora, etc) still don't cover Europe at all. It's most likely something related to content licensing...
I wonder how long that change will take, and in that sense, I wonder what that means for the valuation of Netflix.
I do know that they changing a lot of things, especially when it comes to content production.
Also, they are almost 20 years old, and they open the market from other companies like Hulu, etc. That's got to be good.

I am kind of shocked that the going price for Netflix shares is $400. I have a membership with them once, but I was not impressed with their movie selection, at least the ones you can rent from the TV so we cancelled our membership. I guess a lot of people like it though or it would not be as successful as it is.

Yes even as wait there are other companies that have something to offer when it comes to their streaming services like Hulu, Amazon, and Roku. I never used their services, but Netflix should really step up their game and present other services to stay in the competition. I really do not want to see Netflix go they really are great with their no late fees and it would cool if they invent something new but we'll see.

You made an excellent point. I could have never predicted streaming online videos a decade ago. I give Netflix a lot of credit as they are truly forging ahead with arguably changing digital media for global audiences. The price for their stock will inevitably rise this year alone. This is a stock to win big on if you have the money to invest in it.

Had to deal with their customer support a few days ago. Can't say I was too pleased.
Living in Europe they only offered two options, telephone number (in the language of the country) and web chat in English. Even though I was logged in when entering web chat I still had to spent about 5 minutes toying around with them, giving them my email address etc. since I guess they were trying to make sure it was really me.

Anyway, took me about 20 minutes to get a simple double subscription cancelled, which was their own fault in the first place since I upgraded my subscription to a different one and they "forgot" to cancel the old one.

So yeah, lots of improvements to do on that side. The content itself is great but I imagine there will be a lot of competition. I have some friends who change these services every 2 months. 2 months with nexflix, 2 months with another similar, 2 months with a 3rd and then restart the cycle. (gives you a lot more content without paying for more than 1 service) As long as there are a lot of other providers, and they are popping up by the dozens, I see more and more people moving to this method.

They haven't entered the Asian markets yet I don't think, or even most European countries. Right now it's just North America, the UK and I think Australia? There's still HUGE potential for new markets, and so I think their share prices, even if you bought in now, WILL generate a profit. Now, how big that profit is and how long until you get it is another story altogether.

I've always found the expansion of Netflix interesting. I remember a few years ago when they were still small and the service was only $7 a month or something along those lines, people were telling me about it and I was quite surprised. It's amazing to see how after 5 years or so they've become so big, I wonder how they're going to go about expanding.

It's funny you say that, because if I remember correctly, Blockbuster had the chance to buy Netflix a few years back and they got laughed out of the room. Man, how the tables have turned.
