I don't think it's beneficial to wait until the "ticking time bomb" explodes. As you wait, you probably miss good returns on some stock investments. I never allow government's actions to affect my decisions as it relates to the stock market. The government debt existed long before today. Now, in the era of advance technology, we get far more access to news stories that could frighten some into not investing. My game plan is to proceed forward and take my chances. I'm not a big gambler but I don't believe in waiting it out either in case I miss some good opportunities.

I haven't just "sat and waited" by any stretch of the imagination. I have been more cautious in recent years though. We really need to clamp down as a nation and become more fiscally responsible. Unfortunately, I don't see this happening anytime soon.

I suspect the next crisis may be inflationary.

Now if I could only predict the future and correctly guess when that crisis will occur, what exactly will occur, and how bad it will be, I'd not care about it because I'd position myself to profit from it.

    This is inspiring

Everything you said is really inspiring especially the last part. Money is not a person's whole world indeed. I think investing involves risk no matter what the situation of the market is. We should just have to be prepared in case things don't really turn out right. Worrying too much will only be a hindrance which can lessen our willingness to invest.

JR, I do not know if there has ever been a time where I have disagreed with you on here. Everyone should check their facts before they start typing blames and insults from behind a keyboard. Google is seriously the modern day equivalent to a library, and it literally takes about 10 minutes to fact check all of this.
