Those who are in power and hold the wealth will always be held to a higher standard than those who do not. They see it as a bear clobbering a squirrel.

I dont see any discrimination against asians in my area. There has definitely been an increase in asian immigration in this part of the country. Most seem to be really hard working and entrepenual. They are definitely productive members of their communities.

I don't think there is a lot of anti-Asian discrimination in my area, mainly because it isn't legal. However, the bigotry and hate is outrageous. I was really surprised. I thought the only targets of hate here were blacks and Mexicans.

I've traveled in a lot of places and I've never seen this either. As you said, Asians in general are quite friendly, don't cause any chaos and they are extremely hardworking. Same can't be said about everyone... In most western countries Asian immigrants are viewed as a positive thing as they contrinute to the society, they work (often create their own business) and thus pay taxes and even create more jobs.

Despite the fact northeast Asians have a reputatation for being crime free and hardworking, they are still hated by a lot of people. Some if their attackers are just plain racists, while others hold grudges due to fear of Asian military and economic power, or grudges due to war. You can see the situation by observing Asian Americans themselves, in person, or on forums. They have a tough time in the United States, generally speaking.

Of course, jealousy is another source of hatred. A lot of people don't want anyone to do better than them, especially if they are foreign.

I agree, it's not a matter of the race I mean at the end we're all humans and we're all the same. By the way I agree with Jason76.. none loves who does better than himself..

Political correctness as got worse and worse for a number of years now. It seems like people can't say or do anything these days with at least one person being offended.

I think the idea of being politically correct is another way the government can control people. It takes away the freedom of speech to certain degree. This happens because people like to add meaning to meaningless things. Somebody could be making an arbitrary statement on race and because somebody else does not agree with the statement they negatively interpret the meaning. Now, somebody says they like white chocolate more then dark the are racist. In the example of comparing black and Asians there is no racist agenda most of the time. Somebody is trying to measure data and Asians have overcame racism. There hard work has paid off and that was embedded into there culture. There are some places where Asians may experience discrimination, but those are the lower impoverished areas that experience crime. In those areas many Asians take part in those bad habits that negatively reflect on the culture.

In reality, Americans are not politically correct. If that were true, than why are people insulting me? In fact, people are insulting me for reasons other than the Asian thing. I was at this community college and this one guy kept calling me a wimp, and he wasn't the only one. Anyhow, I didn't do nothing to that dude. :D Anyhow, right off the bat, I can think of all kinds of things I can say and do to make make people angry, hence proving PC doesn't exist.

This so called PC tyranny is a conservative fantasy. In reality, people have always been mean, and people have always been nice. For instance, in the past, people knew abusing the handicapped or racial minorities was cruel, and many people didn't do it. I was a kid in the 1980s and remember how people acted. Some were kind and some were jerks, as always.

I find it odd that there is no repercussions for white people being shunned upon in the media. There is always a security light looking for anyone that says anything remotely racist in the public eye. I guess this is the way the are getting by with the mule and 50 acre rule?

I don't know what the hang ups are about it? It's over and done already. Time to get over it.
