Well if you are looking to just make some quick funding for your business without having to invest much, you should consider affiliate marketing. If you choose a niche that you enjoy, you could find it to be pretty fun to start. This will give you the funding you need to start the business you want while not having to put in much money.

Prehaps you can make a loan? But you have to ensure your business is going to be successful, or else you won't make anything out of it. Starting with a small investment would be a safer plan.

Selling or brokering are ways of making money if you don't have anything to start with. You can sell somebody else's products or broker deals such as stock brokers, real estate brokers, business brokers or insurance brokers. You will need sales and negotiating skills to make a success of it though, not everyone is a born salesman.

This is some really good advice, I am glad that I found this thread because I was pretty much having the same question as you. I think that there is some really solid advice here. What is your day job now? Could you keep working at that, and stock pile away some money before you decide to open your own business? Just some thoughts, goodluck to you!

I am part owner of a company that provides custom audio & video integrations (home automation, home theater, lighting control, etc.) I got the idea from my previous employer, who is now my competition.

I didn't run into too many problems, just figuring out what had to be done to ensure the business operated properly took / takes up most of my time. Acquiring the proper insurance, licensing, finding the right professionals to partner with (lawyers, accountants, insurance agents, etc.) is very important - these people can save you a lot of troubles.

I have to agree with Crystal Marie.. There is quite a bit of money that can be made with Affiliate Marketing or doing CPA offers. If you go to youtube or google making money with CPA offers you can find quite a bit of information on the topic. And, the best part is that you can do it from your home. It is a great opportunity that we have now with all of the different platforms available.

I think I may end up investing a little of my own money into my project business. I really do not need much of a startup as it is a crafting business, but I will need some. I will just not invest every penny I have into it because I don't want to be broke if it does not work out.

+1. Don't invest everything you have. If your business is a flop you'll end up losing everything! If you need more money, take a small loan.

I wish I would have had these tips sooner! I would've had my own business up and running! I like how super easy it is to start one, but I still need to start marketing the heck out of it if I want more people. Thanks for the people who replied to this thread, though, it's really going to help me in the long run!
