Just a terrible mess. This 2014 mid-term election is going to be insanely important. Feel like the country is as divided as ever and need something drastic to change things around. This CIA mess is exactly what Snowden warned about
I would like to see him booted out of office, but his VP doesn't exactly inspire confidence in me either. I don't think he'll ever be impeached though. He's "protected", so to speak. And the media is in his back pocket. And those who might have power to impeach him won't likely do so for fear of what would likely happen around the country as a result of such an action.
I think it's pretty crazy to understand what's going on with CIA or NSA, it's just beyond what anyone can imagine and truly no one knows who's spying on who.
Honestly there's an old phrase related to a comic book that goes, "Who watches the watchmen?" Really, the CIA and the NSA spy on and can spy on anyone they want including the people that grant them power to do certain things. There shouldn't be any real discrimination in who they do spy on if they're going to have the power to do it. Besides, you'd think if they wanted to know information about things they should just tap the most important people with the most influence. Not little ole me watching cartoons on a Saturday morning.
Everyone is spying on everyone, this whole thing is out of control, nothing is official anymore and we have no privacy what-so-ever...
I think it's incredibly unsettling that the CIA is spying on the Senate - the real question is: Who are they reporting their findings to?
Yeah, it's a good question, but I suspect we all already know the answer... no? Add it to all the other questionable "happenings" over the last few years, and spend a few hours in a world history book.
Well, there is no worry if the Senate has nothing to hide. This is unconstitutional though, and is pretty messed up. This is a federal crime. Nixon was impeached for something like this, but less.
CIA, NSA, FBI, they all have different names but the things they do in the name of "national security" violates privacy laws. It's impossible not to do that and still do their jobs properly. As long as they don't abuse their power, I wouldn't speak up. <rant> Now the mall cops and security guards, don't get me started on those. They ask to see the contents of your bag, poke around and for what? I don't think they could stop someone who had a clear intention of blowing up a mall or shooting a place up. They make a big deal out of things like tiny 2-inch pocketknives or studded bracelets. </rant>
