I wasn't alive during slavery, and as far as I know my ancestors were Native Americans and post-civil war European immigrants. I wasn't born until 1969, so I accept no blame nor responsibility for slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, etc that happened before me. There are huge numbers of people of different races, religions, nationalities, etc who have become great successes - there's no excuse these days, particularly with all of the affirmative action, grants, etc minorities are afforded.

Slavery and other forms of oppression have gone on all over the world since the beginning of time, and still do. I have no doubt at least some of my ancestors were oppressed and mistreated one way or another here and back in Europe. It all happened a long time ago before any of us here alive in the world today were born. Time to move forward.

    Well said JR.

I will accept the criticism and consequences of my own actions, but I will not bare the guilt of people who's only connection is having had the same skin tone as me. My family didn't own slaves. They owned textile operations in Spain until the events leading up to the civil war (Spain's 1936-39 conflict, not America's 1861-65 conflict) finally forced them to leave. Even if they did own slaves, and they didn't, it would be upon their heads, not mine.

Another example: my wife is German. Should I hold her responsible for destruction rained down by the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War? Of course not. That would be stupid because she wasn't alive then and the only connection is the nationality.

So, enough already with the mass guilt.

How about we move forward with "Lives Matter" and just leave the descriptive words out of it altogether. It does not matter the color of a life, only the life in and of itself. Anything else has an agenda behind it that you would likely be better off distancing yourself from as far and quickly as possible.

Don't believe everything you read. Sighs, media coverage is design to ignite a strong emotion from viewers. Majority of the time, usually 98%, people will react very negatively. White Lives Matter was created due to some unknown attack and yet the so-called perpetrators are still at large with no concrete description of the people who did this attack. Sounds like a page taken out of America's past when some white women claimed black men raped them and any black man on sight was lynch or a predominately black community/churches were burned to the ground.

The media has always instigated drama just to gain more attention. It is one of those cases where people do react and do not think too much. I just listen to the important stuff and then push away the bs.

Well, if you look at the statistics...

I will also add that I'm disgusted at the actions of that cowardly kid in South Carolina the night before last. I was hoping he'd spare the victims' families and the taxpayers any more grief and off himself. But that hasn't happened yet. He's confessed to everything. Hopefully they'll execute him in a few years.

It's people like him who also give the idiot race baiters like Al Sharpton a slight illusion of legitimacy, unfortunately.

    Loving the irony!

Seriously though, this just looks like racist tit-for-tat to me. Given the fact that the "Black Lives Matter" tagline came into play following an unwarranted shooting by the police, I find this little display most distasteful.

Very distasteful, indeed. I feel as though it doesn't compare to the "Black Lives Matter" campaign - and it leans more to racial controversy led by white supremacists. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for sufficient rights for every race - but I don't feel as though the "White Lives Matter" campaign is important at all. It's like these groups of people are trying to start some kind of race war. Well, they need to wake up, because this isn't the 1960's.

But, either way, I agree with pwarbi. It's not worth commenting on. If you give them no attention whatsoever, they just seem to :poof: disappear!

People have too much time on their hands. How do they find time go protest every little trivial thing? Most must not have jobs. As far as the white/black lives groups I think its all a bunch of nonsense. I'm very much an individualist and reject all attempts at dividing people into different groups.

Seroiusly? This sounds like a joke, almost. If only more people clinged less onto matters of race. We're all equal in the end!
