Political correctness and this media snit over the Confederate flag is ridiculous. Walmart refuses to make a cake with the Confederate flag, then makes one with the ISIS black flag. http://therightscoop.com/lol-walmar...nfederate-flag-but-happily-made-an-isis-cake/

But then CNN can't identify an ISIS flag ---- http://gawker.com/cnn-mistakes-isis-style-dildo-flag-at-pride-parade-for-1714409153 -- so maybe we can forgive Walmart employees.

Can't make this stuff up. Pathetic.

I'm irritated that anytime the role of a gun is brought up, suddenly gun advocates want to move the goalposts to another topic. This guy was not mentally ill, he was of sound mind as clearly shown by the manifesto that he wrote, which coincides with the viewpoint of quite a few people that no one would call mentally ill, but simply people who "aren't afraid to tell the truth."

The reason why lax gun laws in this case should be considered is that unless he had a bomb, there is no other form of violence that would've assured him of nine lives in such a short span. He couldn't have beaten them to death, nor could he have stabbed them to death, but it took no time at all for him to shoot them to death and mock the few that he left behind. This is a prime example to talk about gun laws.

Sensational stuff will always get attention. Many Americans are obsessed with race and all the media needs to do is drop the word "race" into anything and almost everyone will be on the net reading articles, comparing them against other articles posted elsewhere. The games the media play — they're disgusting. Just live and let live.

Sorry, but in my book, anyone who would maliciously take the life of another like this is mentally ill. But then again it is legal since Roe v Wade to murder babies so none of us should be surprised at any acts like this. Sure, blame the guns, the bombs, the knives, the religions, or even the tax code, I'm sure that will fix the problems.

I agree. Whereas people take it with a grain of salt, I personally believe it's a smart move they took it down.

Shouldn't waving the confederate flag a sign of treason? The union army won and the confederates lost. That flag is a symbol of the old ideas and slavery is one of them.

Gun control won't stop people like this idiot. He obtained the gun illegally, then went into a "gun free zone" and killed nine good people. He broke pretty much every gun law in the book already. What would make anyone think he wouldn't violate any other gun laws to obtain a gun, bullets, and access to victims?

Most of these shootings occur in "gun free zones" with guns that are obtained illegally.

He could have just as easily bombed them, poisoned them, or drove a truck into a group of people or whatever. Look at cities like Chicago and others that have recently enacted very tough gun laws - their shootings have gone through the roof. Other countries with very tough gun laws like Norway continue to have mass shootings, bombings, etc.

Criminals will never obey gun laws. They will never turn their guns in if there is a ban, and if their guns are taken away, they will get their hands on other guns at first opportunity.

I'm not a criminal, but if the government ever decided to come around and take away everybody's legal guns, I'd be on the phone as soon as they left my house, and in possession of one or more guns within a half hour or so. The only difference is that now I'd be a criminal myself by definition.

If you don't want guns, don't have 'em. But we've got that little thing called the 2nd Amendment...

I have no use for the Confederate flag. I was born and raised in the south. Didn't see it a whole lot growing up. Of course, there's a minority of folks who want to wave the stars and bars around but they're pretty few and far between. I think this is a largely fabricated controversy. The flag didn't kill anyone. And racism, while a problem, is a very slight one in modern American society.

There a number of people who to prove that the flag has nothing to do with racism say that there were thousands of African-Americans fought for the Confederate army. But question is, was it their choice or did they fight as slaves who had to obey what their "masters" commanded? I know that there were many who were freed so they could fight but many of them fled to the North and chose instead to fight against the confederacy. Is that claim [blacks fought for the Confederacy] fiction?

This flag PC business is increasing silly stupid. Bubba Watson, the golfer, who now owns the The General tweeted he will paint over the roof's Confederate flag. A firestorm of protest was lit by Dukes of Hazzard fans and the actors themselves. The TV Land network pulled the show reruns. NASCAR asked fans not to bring Confederate flags to races. Stupid move, as it has created a new cause by protesters that are either boycotting races or attendees now going out their way to find and bring Confederate flags to the events. The country is in an uproar because one young male wearing a piece of clothing chose to murder church going people. This nonsense drives me crazy, especially when the public seemingly has little to say about IS, the flagging economy, the putrid unemployment numbers and <fill in the blank>. Pfft.
