Are you kidding me? She turned her apartment into a BAR? That can't possibly be legal. I'm sure she didn't have an ABC permit. ;)

It's scary what some ordinary seeming people do inside their homes. They trash the houses and live like pigs (personal experience we had with a tenant) They seemed so normal, well presented and were the complete opposite.

My family owns a chain of rental properties and I've wanted to get into the business, however, they have a hard time with some of their renters. It's stressful but can be a great source of income, as long as your renters pay on time.

I am a landlord and I have seen just about everything from my tenants. Some people are just unbelievable! I have not had a good tenant in awhile. Fingers crossed I find a good one soon who I won't have to end up seeing in court...

so sorry about your predicament...i tend to call such,...tenants from ....! same here, its been a twister for me, bad enough i had assigned the work to a family friend because i was never on the ground in regard to the rental property, in a nutshell, her work ethic is shoddy and pathetic, am done with her, as far as relationships go...this is good as done,...no regrets whatsoever!

Will Shakespeare touched on this topic when he wrote "The fault dear Brutus lies not in our stars, but in ourselves." If you have numerous problem tenants, perhaps the fault is as much yours as theirs. Step back and take a look at your role as the property owner and LL. Are you not qualifying tenants rigidly enough? Are you bending your rules because you want to fill a vacancy? Once a tenant takes possession, are they also taking control of the LL-tenant relationship? A bit of objective self- reflection might help and decrease your stress and frustration.

This is the mistake, i have been doing over and over again, letting these losers take over while all along am the boss, but a boss asleep on the job, is just as worthless as the next loser of a tenant!

I had a tenant that stopped paying electricity. He leeched off the neighbor, would get disconnected by the electric company guy, then he would reconnect it. There was a dirty cop using the place as a stash house and the cop shot the tenant's girlfriend. It was a crazy mess.
