I'd suggest you may want to go read the subforum that JR already suggested has a lot of information about this. It's called Stock Market Education. How far along are you with your degree? Or are you already at the exam stage?
I am starting a wedding cake business and there are very small start up costs. You really just need your equipment and a vehicle to transport the cake. The other thing is that you will need a certified kitchen, and that will be the biggest cost. But there are lots of options for businesses with low start up costs. Good luck!
The thing about investment is that it isn't so one dimensional as only being monetary. Investments come in a number of types. For instance, an investment of time to me is worth far more than money in most cases, especially when the time I am spending on my business is more than I get to spend outside of work, outside of seeing my girlfriend, and doing things I personally enjoy. Unfortunately, the investment of time is virtually inescapable unless you are paying money to others. Like they say, "Time is money." I just wish things were easier much of the time.
That's quite some investment of time to eventually do some investing. Everything is so interconnected these days.
That's right, time investments are often overlooked by many people who just look at the financial aspect of things. A good tip I've heard is know what your hourly income is, so that you can convert the expenditures you have into a time currency as well. That new gadget might not seem so appealing if you realize it takes you 30 hours of work to pay for it...
I Agree. To be a stock broker requires investment of time, resources, education, and relationships. Everything is very connected!
I think I'll put up a lending club instead. It does not need much investment. You may use your savings to lend to people, then you earn by interest.
That is very true, ther is not much investing to do if you want to be a broker, you just watch for a certain business that entails good earnings.
I see being a broker pretty much as a consultant, all you carry is your knowledge, you are powerful and you are paid because you know what to do, not many better jobs than this.
