WW2 was obviously good for the US economy since they had to increase production of pretty much everything. Not sure how great the other ones have been, at least the weapons industry has benefited but not too sure about the general economy.
War with Russia will look very different to what it did back in the Cold War era. It will be fought through] financial, economic, cyber and proxies wars in smaller countries. But a full out war, I'd say is rather unlikely at this point.
I agree that there will be no war, but this cold war climate coming back again is possibly what both US and Russia want, Russia takes Ukraine and the US sell more weapons.
I agree with you. The point is that USA has a lot of debts, and this just fits them fine. Everyone is judging them for waging wars so much in the past time, so I doubt they're going in another one so soon. All they want to do is make money wherever they can at the moment.
A war, at this point, is a hardship for the US economy. At these conditions, a war would deplete all that is left and the US economy will eventually crash. If we can make these predictions so can the staff of Obama in this case. which means, no war.
Well, if we had to go into Iraq and spend a couple of trillion and lose American lives, we should have siphoned off the oil and given 20% royalties to the citizens after we took the old govt out.
Being the super power country that the US is right now, I think if there is any war with any country, that will really affect the stocks a lot. A lot of economies depend on the US and if there's any instability happening at the same time (such as an unrest), it will definitely make investors lose their confidence. I certainly hope that the conflict with Russia does not escalate to anything more serious. Nobody wants to be in the middle of a war. It is not only economically debilitating, it's such a bad experience for anyone as well.
I couldn't agree more, the economic damage you can recover from over time. The disgusting treatment of other people during war, will scar the countries involved forever.
I think it would definitely fall. If you look at how stock prices dipped after 9/11 and other similar war incidents, this can give you an example of how it will affect stock prices. I agree that a nuclear war threat would make people worry about more than stock prices.
