And that's but a start. Within 8 years of her presidency America will be completely transformed. The country will rely solely on sustainable [solar energy] — all American homes will be "solar-powered." This is something those who think Hillary cares a lot for the environment will like but it sounds too good to be true. Such "exaggerated" campaign promises never are kept.
I once looked into whole house solar for our home. Even with tax credits, etc., it was staggeringly expensive and wasn't really "whole" house. I'm all for renewable energy, but many, frankly, are a pipe dream. And that is even with massive government involvement.
There will be all kinds of "exaggerated" campaign promises coming up. This is just one of many that we will be hearing. All American homes being "solar-powered" is definitely too good to be true. It is too costly of a promise to keep.
Heh, really? I'd like to see that accomplished. I don't believe anything more from what these people say to gain votes. Very malignant people, especially Hillary.
I'm all for solar power... it truly is something that has the capability of transforming the way we live on this planet. But something inside me says that this is just another election "promise" that will be forgotten about very fast even if she does get elected.
Agreed - just look at Solyndra. It should be left up to the free market - we shouldn't be forced to finance bad govt investments with our tax dollars, and alt energies should be able to stand on their own in the free market. They need to be efficient, reliable, and affordable.
That's some promise Hillary! Ensuring all American homes have solar panels within eight years seems like too much of a tall order to me. Clearly, this would be taxpayer funded and whilst nobody can deny that renewable energy is massively important, you have to wonder where the money will come from. Will budgets be cut elsewhere or will taxes be raised?
I don't think that is enough solar panels for the entire USA. With that many homes and citizens, I think that only a privileged few will actually have solar panels. If every home had a 1000 watt solar system with a small battery bank, that would run about $1,500 usd at the cheapest I could locate. How many homes are there in the USA? I think it's funny that she said right years. Like we she is already assuming she will get an automatic reelection if she get's in to office.
Solar isn't at the stage where it's viable for home use without heavy government subsidies. It will be soon enough, but then market forces will be in play we don't need her. This is only about votes and pandering. That being said, have you ever thought about solar power? If you think about it, the sun is responsible for most of the energy on this planet. Every fossil fuel is essentially just stored solar power.
