Or do you think we just die and that's that. Some spiritualists think we're souls walking around with bodies and when we die we return to the Earth like an endless cycle. Do you think we are reincarnated into other people or possibly animals? There are so many possibilities out there and most of which are dependent on the religion you lived or chose with. What do you think? Is there an afterlife?

I'm not allowed to post links yet on this website, but I would really recommend you examine all of the truth claims made by all major religions and decide for yourself. Yes, I absolutely believe in an afterlife, but more a physical Resurrection and transformation of the Universe. Godandscience.org has a lot of good, well-researched articles. The guy is a scientist who came to Faith later in life after dismissing Christianity most of his life. Doesn't update much any longer because his wife recently passed away, but it is a fascinating website. He knows his stuff.

There were a lot of people who saw Jesus alive again after he was crucified, and there is no doubt he was a real person. That is the best evidence of an afterlife that exists.

A little part of me likes to think that there's an afterlife, that we die and then we back to life again in another different world... But the realistic part of me thinks that we die and we die, there's no life after that, there's no heaven or hell, but that sounds really empty in comparison of all the things that humans can do... So, I'm kind of stuck between those two theories.

People don't cease to exist when they die. Once the soul is free from body, eternity lies before you. It's hard enough to grasp that but true it is. Depending on which side you choose in your short sojourn on earth you'll either be in a place filled with love or elsewhere in darkness, pain, etc. As for reincarnation, I don't believe people keep coming back forever. Scientists claim the earth still has around 1.5 billion years to support life but what happens afterwards would that be the end of humans?

Life itself is a miracle, sad to say, some people don't even believe in life, and that's where the problem begins. I believe that once you have life, you have life eternal. There are a lot of things on this Earth that we humans don't understand. Or, that we cannot solve. The idea of the afterlife is the greatest puzzle to man. If humans and other living things can be born from simply procreation. How hard do you think it it for the Supreme God to give us eternal life?

I think that once we die then that's it. I'm not convinced on the matter but if you believe the facts then right now pretty much all of this spiritual stuff is just a myth and has no basis in reality. So until we understand more I think I'll stick to my current skeptical point of view.

Hi! I'm just curious - WHY do you believe that once you have life you have it eternity? I would really love to know your good reason for thinking this is actually true, versus just wishing it was true, or just going along with what you've either been taught or see other people believing.

I'm looking for intellectual honesty here. All the answers I've ever gotten from this type of question always came down to reasons like "it gives meaning to life" or "because someone wrote it down long ago and it made it into the Bible" or some other reason that boils down to persona emotional satisfaction versus real evidence. There are, after all, a lot of competing views so one should have some evidence to claim all the other views are incorrect - otherwise you are guilty of intellectual dishonesty.

Thanks in advance for any reply that you may give.

We are all on a tiny rock with a bit water in the entire universe full of galaxies, stars and planets. There is nothing special about humanity other than our amazing ability to dream about sex and kill each other. The sun will destroy the earth one day and there will be nothing left to remember about the humans. The only way out is to build galactic ships and start colonizing, but you are not gonna live forever unless you find a way while you are still alive. Once you die, you don't comeback, it's game over. Humpty Dumpty or nobody can have your molecules put together and certainly you don't have an invisible soul in you. You are exactly what you see on the mirror, nothing less or more! Move on, be useful for all humanity now, time is running out. We already know that the humans did not progress enough to save everyone from earth when the time comes...

Got proof to disprove the existence of an intangible soul? You've heard stories of people seeing ghosts and other paranormal phenomenon? Would you say all those people who claim to have seen or heard something are liars? What of those people who claim that whilst on operating tables they watched everything? How would they unless their soul was momentarily out of their bodies?

I see afterlife as something real even if there is no evidence of it. Looking at our world how can we exist for such a brief moment only? There has to be something more!
