l have always looked at the franchise side of the business but l used to come to the conclusion that l did not want to run someone else's business and l wanted my own business, when l look at things now if l had the chance to get a mcdonalds franchise for example l would jump at it. Would you consider running a franchise?.

I guess for me it would depend on what the franchise is, exactly. On the basic bottom line, I feel like you mentioned, that I'd rather have something all to myself than running a business for someone else. I suppose I could be convinced if the right franchise opportunity came along, though.

I would rather have my own business but if I had the opportunity to own a franchise, I definitely would. It would be nice to own a Jimmy Johns sandwich shop but a McDonalds seems to hectic for me. I would just use the profit from that business to start up my own.

Not likely for me. But I never say "never". I'd be more likely to invest in one than operate one.

I would not want to undertake the responsibility of owning a franchise, as it seems like a lot of work for minor pay-off. I am just curious about the value that can be added to a career or quality of life for my family. What do you all thing?

I think that I would rather have my own business, but like several others mentioned it would really depend on what the franchise was. You never know... a really great opportunity might present itself one day.

If I really loved the franchise and I had capital to invest why not? I think that when we have a business opportunity we should take it, especially if it is doing something we love.

No I wouldn't. In my opinion it is better to come up with a new idea or start up your own business. Yes it might be easier to get customers with franchise but it might be harder to get new customers.

Sure, it would be better to come up with a new idea because that would eventually lead to more profit, but if we are lacking with ideas what's wrong in putting our money in something that works?

No. No franchises for me. If I want to run my own business it will be my business, not a branch of someone else's. Call me simple, but the franchise method puts complications into something that don't need to be there.
