I am wagering that Joe Biden will get into the Presidential election. I think he also has a great chance of winning the nomination with Hillary's declining standings in the polls and the virtual unelectability of Bernie Sanders. Plus naturally he will get the "sympathy" vote. If he did indeed promise his son he would run, I think he will. How does everyone else weigh in on this?

I agree that Hillary Clinton's chances for a Democrat's nomination is in peril due to the recent issue of the email. But on the contrary, being melodramatic on that promise to his son to run will not be a factor to most of the voters. Pardon me but the way I see it, the US elections next year will be dominated by Donald Trump who is on the other side of the fence. It seems that he cannot do wrong and whatever he does just added some mileage and points to his political ambition. Unless there is a messiah who will appear before the elections, Trump will be the next US president.

I disagree Corzhens. It is a small but vocal part of the electorate that supports Trump. It is way to early in the process to decide who will be the next president. Trump is too polarizing of a figure to be the next President. I also read something on facebook about an organization that has called every election for the last 80 years, that said 2016 will be a Democratic landslide. So, we will see..

"Read something on Facebook"? It is a pretty large part of the Republican base considering there are 17 people in the race. There are a lot of people out there on both sides that like what he is doing.
If Democrats win the election after this pitiful performance by their messiah Obama, this country is more screwed than it already is.

ESPNs Nate Silver predicted both the 2008 and 2012 elections with great accuracy.
In 2008 he predicted every state except for Indiana, 2012 was a perfect 50/50

Biden said his family would make the decision for him and his wife as some rumors circulating on the net say, doesn't want her husband to run. So till Biden makes the announcement, everyone who thinks he's running is merely speculating. But if he doesn't run then the Democrats won't win the election.

And I say that if Biden DOES run the Democrats will win the election. Trump may not have the big numbers right now to win the election, but 2 factors dictate that it doesn't mean much.

    1) The election is still 14 months away.

    2) The 3 top contenders in the Republican party are all business-people.

What does that tell you? People are tired of politics as usual. The only way the Dem's are going to win is if they select a business leader to run. Clinton isn't getting it. Bush isn't getting it. No politician is getting it. The next POTUS is going to be a business person.

Despite being coy about it, all of Biden's moves show that intends to run:

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/09/17/us-usa-election-biden-idUSKCN0RG2PP20150917
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden's journey to a decision on whether to run for president is taking him this week to California, Michigan, and Ohio - critical states for fundraising and electoral recognition if he decides to jump into the race . . . On Tuesday night he discarded prepared remarks at an event with Latinos at his residence in favor of a diatribe against Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner whose comments on immigration have upset Hispanics, another group whose support is critical to Democrats.

He is watching Clinton closely and as her popularity fades and more people call for a candidate who can win an election to step in and save the Dems, Biden will declare his candidacy.

He probably will but he definitely shouldn't. Joe is not a candidate who has the support nationwide to launch a serious run at the presidency. He actually polls very well at the moment but this is a long way out. In all likelihood Hillary will try to keep Bernie in the race long enough for it to seem like she was elected rather than anointed. Don't be fooled though - there's no race here. No decision will be made as one was already made years back. Hillary will be the candidate who moves forward to the presidential election, Bernie serves his purpose, and Joe is surplus to requirements.

I'm also not sure if that would be the wisest decision either for him to enter the race. He might have some support, a lot even, but nowhere near enough to mount a serious challenge in my opinion and he will be left looking a little foolish if he does press ahead with it.
